I want to thank you for braving the cold (a normal day here in Newfoundland ) to bring us your fine looking installation photos and step-by-step instructions!
Cheers, nice work!

You are most welcome Dean. It was 40F outside and raining at the same time, that is plenty cold for my thin South Carolina blood. I was able to wear my summer riding gloves during the install, and that helped some as well.

I'm sure we can work something out. You have a PM.

Since you have installed the wake up lights have you had any warning lights across your dash? I purchased a similar set and installed them and the dealer said that the wake up light caused a problem with my computer system. Very good instruction pictures.

Nice job documenting the process and great video showing them working

I no longer have these units installed, but when we did they never caused any issues with throwing codes or anything like that. If you did not buy the unit from Custom Dynamics, then there could be a chance of some interference possibly based on the type of capacitors used. The Spyder's electrical system is a bit different than other motorcycles and some things have been known to cause interference with it.

I know this thread is a couple Months old,
But what was the reasoning behind removing the Modulator?
-
-
I installed ESI's wake-up modulator over the weekend and it seems to be working fine with no adverse affects to my computer's system - oh, I also installed the tail section LED break light. I did notice that once I engaged the break, I would have to wait at least 10 seconds before the break lights would flash again when applying the break.

I had the same problem that spyderwolf had. Evan refunded my money, no questions asked.
-
I am having the same intermittent issue now, so I may be giving ESI a call when I get home from SITr.

Custom Dynamics told me...
I called them the other day because I wanted to add the HMT Brake light, two way adapter and have the wake-up function.
They specifically told me that the wake-up will not work on the HMT light because of the CAN BUS faulting. But also seems to me in another thread I read someone being told that they were coming out with a module that WILL work on the RT very shortly. I remember reading the phrase "putting the final touches on it" but sorry, I just don't know where it was.
