    Default Trailer waterproofing kit

The service manager at our local dealer just called to tell me that the water protection kit is in for my wife's RT. I told him that it looked pretty simple to install and that I would swing by in the morning to pick it up and install it myself.

He tells me it will take over an hour to install and recommends that it be done at the dealership. I can't believe that it would take that long but I finally agreed to bring the Spyder and trailer by tomorrow and have it done.

Is he correct... could it be that complicated a deal?

I'am going to install mine, Lamount said it took him 10 min to do it, I mean all you half to do is drill two holes and seal them off thats it. It sounds like your dealer is trying to rip you. cj

If Lamont can do it, you can do it. Uno numero hole or .40 S&W if you have no patience.

I installed my water kit. Being careful it took me about 30 minutes at the most to install. The tray "snaps" into place with plastic fastners.

My kit is waiting for me in the dealer... a ride away to pick up, check out what new things David has in the showroom, and a afternoon installing the kit and the Utopia backrest (when it gets here after the 18th)

Showed the service manager some of the responses on this thread.

He had it done while I waited in about 25 minutes and there was no charge.

Thanks for all the heads ups.
