HMF exhaust
Got my HMF exhaust yesterday and installed it today. I managed to get in a short ride before going to work and I like it. Now I'm stuck just looking at it in the garage until this late winter storms clears up, hopefully by Saturday. Thanks Brunswick for selling me the exact HMF I was hoping for.

Cool deal. Make sure it's not too close to the rear brake actuator lever--- I had to put a spacer and move mine out about 1.5" to keep it from hitting it.....
Spyder #1 - 2008 GS SM5 Premier Edition #1977. RIP after 80,000 miles.
Spyder #2 - 2012 RT SM5. Traded in after 24,000 miles.
Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.
Spyder #4 - 2017 F3 SM6. Too good of a deal to pass up!

Might be a stupid question but do you have to use an 02 modifier or something else when putting on new exhaust?

You don't have to, but with the increased airflow the O2 mod or a Juice Box certainly helps get more fuel when you need it.....

Mine came with a spacer, about 3/8". At least on my Spyder it acts as a spacer as it doesn't fit completely inside the mounting hole near the passenger footpeg. I was looking at that though and agree that it's close. They could have made their 90 about a inch longer on the side going into the Spyder's pipe.

Is the pitch or tone of hmf higher or lower than hindle?
Is it louder than two bros without baffle?
Thank you in advance.

My first impression is that I think it's a little deeper sounding than the Hindle. Maybe I'll fire both up tomorrow morning and try to determine the exact difference in our two Spyders.

Deeper than the Hindle and quieter than the 2bros. I went thru all of the pipes on Phantom and liked the HMF the best.

Now put tunes in your helmet, and play with the throttle in tune with your favorite song.

I have the Hindle and went out and fired up bjt's HMF. My first impression was that it was not louder but maybe a little deeper. I then turned off his spyder and fired up mine. The Hindle is so close to the sound of the HMF that if I had my back turned when you started the bikes, I don't know if I would know the difference.

Yeah-- 1" more on the 90 would do it-- or bending it at 92 would work too. I used some gray PVC and made a 1.5" spacer to move it out as mine DID bottom out and punch a small hole in the bottom of my pipe. Can only see the hole from underneath and I patched it with high-temp RTV.
Of course mine is lower than yours due to my BRP bags......
I also like that they will do a repack for you for $35 if you send the pipe in to them....

It's deeper all the way through the power ban. I find the Hindle gets tinny sounding up high in the rpm. The rattling shields don't help it either. I just got the 2bros duals for mine. going to install today. So far the HMF is the best sounding pipe I've heard so far.

I haven't had your bad luck with my Hindle, have had it since summer 2008 and it still sounds deep and no tinny sound. The heat shield doesn't rattle either. I am glad you are happy with your new one though.

Bingo !! And the HMF is only $229.00 with free shipping. It's a no brainer. Mine fit perfect.

Must resist the urge to purchase the HMF right now, it being this close to Spyderfest and all. You are making it very difficult though, I can assure you of that.
