I think I would have a very heated discussion with the dealer. Totally unacceptable.

Perhaps the problem all along was you--- not
The spyder. Lol. Sorry for your problems. You still MUST come to SITS. Did you try the 3-on off key trick?
Spyder #1 - 2008 GS SM5 Premier Edition #1977. RIP after 80,000 miles.
Spyder #2 - 2012 RT SM5. Traded in after 24,000 miles.
Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.
Spyder #4 - 2017 F3 SM6. Too good of a deal to pass up!

Turning the key on and off 3 times in a row, without starting the Spyder, reboots the computer. This may clear the codes for you.
Let us know what happens.

Thanks!! The code is gone and so are the symptoms.................
I'm still taking it back tomorrow after I go to work tonight.
We'll see what they come up with!!

Glad to hear it. I would definitely take it back and make them check it out, as something is not right with it. Could be as simple as loose battery terminal connections, or a loose relay, but I would want to be sure before taking a long trip on it.
By the way, on getting the new Spyder. Hopefully this issue will be resolved quickly and you won't have any more issues, except for the whole DPS recall thing.

take it back and hope they don't hold it hostage for a new DPS.....

Bummer
Spyderwoman,
Sorry to hear you're having a problem with your new machine. May I ask where you bought your Spyder?

I am really sorry about----another heart burn event.-----You of all people don't deserve it. I am really excited about seeing all you Illinois riders Sunday. I will have my brand new RT out for a Sunday work out.
I have a dozen things to show you on the Silver Bullet.
All that talk about a black cloud following you and your Spyder is non-sense.
"I think I need to rename myself----insecticide".
Don't even think like that.
But just to be safe I would appreciate if you not touch my RT
If you don't have a sense of humor,
you probably don't have any sense.

Gotta ask, WHY?
Could you not have let it idle while opening the gate? Just curious.
These bikes are so much like new-gen aircraft versus "Old School" motorcycles it isn't funny! And those aircraft require A LOT of computer "resets" due to the stray electrical gremlins causing "Fault Codes". Seems the Spyder requires a few "resets" as well to clear its head.
Tricks like the "3-Key Reset" I feel is something each and every dealer should inform us owners/buyers so as to eliminate much unwanted and unnecessary trips to them. Creates a "Win-Win" situation for all involved (especially if such a visit is covered by & paid for under a warranty (BRP paid labor $$$)).
Just my 2-cents.....

Funny you ask about WHY I didn't let it idle....my driveway is a steep incline and I never was parking brake friendly. I either had to fight with it to release or I would end up wacking my chin with it. So.....I got used to getting to the top of my drive and turning it off. That seemed to work out alot better for me.

I'm sorry you had problems. I know some of them can be very frustrating.
We have purchased 4 bikes from them.
This one. They test rode before I took it. I rode it around before taking it. I was happy with it.
I have a problem. They came and got it.
I will ryde again!!
