    Default 3K Check Up

I just called my dealer to make an appointment for my 3K check/ oil change ( Elk Grove Motor Sports ). They quoted me $289.00. That seems a little steep. Is this about normal?

Seems fair. But for $60 of parts including oil you can do it yourself?

I paid $215 but I think my dealer's labor rate is pretty low compared to most.

I paid in the high 200's in Denver too. These toys are not cheap. I'll probably do most of my own maintenance from now on.

That has been my conclusion. After this service I will be doing my one service. If it wasn't for the fact I am having MPG problems, and I purchased it used I would probably start now. But I need the piece of mind that everything is working OK.

I had the 600 service done by dealer at $170. Did the 3K service My self cost $110 for oil n supplies. Also just had the 6k service done by a different dealer for $140 checked dps steering issue and adjusted parkin brake/belt-sparkplugs Did not to the valve check-Dealer said 12k or after. 1300 miles later i think i might need new plugs. Hope this helps! I think alot depends on the labor rate and size of shop. around here rates are flate rate for some service or 80 to 95 per hr.
