Friedburg Germany 23rd Engineers BN(Ray Barracks, Elvis served his time there).
Fort Campbell Kentucky 326 Engineer BN(Deployed to Dessert Storm 101st).
Bamburg Germany 82nd Engineer BN, Blue Babe Sir.(Warner Barracks).
Fort Drum New York 10th Mountain, (No surprise there right??).
Korea 2nd Engineer BN(Hovey Barracks).
Back to Fort Leonard Wood Missouri 554 Engineer Bn where I retired.
The reason I mention my MOS and assignments is possible there's other members who where (or are still) a Combat Engineer.. If so PM me and we will go from there, again ranging from 1981-2002

I did not serve but son is Naval Aviator headed back to the Gulf today to join the USS Harry S Truman. This will be his third deployment to the Persian Gulf.

I have 2 relatives that fought in the American Revolution. They are buried at Yorktown VA.
My stepfather was in the US Army and fought in Korea.
I served 11 yrs 5 months 17 days US Navy during the 60s and 70s... released to VA for further treatment... release by VA in 1976 100% DAV.
My Grandson, Christopher, a US Marine serving with the Third Marine Air Wing in Afganistan. He is the Air Controllers computer wizard.

Almost got sent there....glad I didn't. My Lady's family lives in ND and we visited one Christmas. No desire to go back.
I did three years at Eielson AFB, AK. After having experienced both, I have to admit there is a big difference between AK -20F and ND -20F. Don't ask me to explain it, I just know the ND -20F was down right miserable, the AK -20F was just something you had to be cognizant of and live and travel accordingly.

Finished my career as a Staff Sergeant serving as the Warrior Transition Unit Platoon Sergeant at Ft. Leavenworth, KS before it deactivated. I now work as a contractor at the National Simulation Center at Ft. Leavenworth as a training specialist developing VBS2 and associated products.
I miss active duty, but I'd like to think I'm still training Soldiers indirectly.
