    Default Steering Wheel? Why not?

Ok, so I've been thinking, due to the steering nature of the Spyders, Could not the handle bars be switched with a Wheel of some form?

Easier done on a SE but ether types with some mods to the controls(paddle shifters, button signals, etc) adjusted i think it could be done and work.

Why do it? Well its Unique, and may even be a more comfortable setup.

    Whatcha think?

I imagine it is an issue of leverage. A steering wheel probably would have benefited from a stronger power steering system. I could be wrong though.

I think you'd have trouble cornering, using the right leverage, leaning, etc......

    Spyder #1 - 2008 GS SM5 Premier Edition #1977. RIP after 80,000 miles.
    Spyder #2 - 2012 RT SM5. Traded in after 24,000 miles.
    Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.
    Spyder #4 - 2017 F3 SM6. Too good of a deal to pass up!

I think there might be a leverage issue as mentioned before. Not sure it would work as well as handlebars.

But give it a try and let us know how it goes.

I agree....I'm all up for interesting ideas, but I'll be just downright blunt and say this is really stupid...why don't we put wings on the bike and ride it off a cliff?...maybe it can fly, too....hey, swap out the rotax for a turbine engine...take one out of an RX-7 or RX-8 and convert it...it can be done, right?
