I've learnt to use a keyboard and I can even punch out 80 wpm occasionally; but I remember all of the items in that first quote; I do remember portable typewriters; and I even remember Biro's and Fountain Pens; Dip pens and inkwells on the desk; and those fat lead pencils (or graphite pencils) that were easy for kids to hold!

However, my kids tell me the things that REALLY tell everyone I'm OLD is that waaay back when I first went to School, not only did I get to buy lunch and a drink from the CWA Ladies (Country Women's Association) raising money for the local Volunteer EFS (Emergency Fire Service) for tuppence (a two-penny piece from the Imperial Pounds, Shillings, and Pence currency that preceded decimal currency in Aust prior to 14 Feb 1966 - I can still sing the 'jingle' that helped sell that idea if you care to listen! ) but I learned to write on a SLATE with a Slate Pencil! The Kids often trot out this article from the 'Australasian Historical Archaeological' papers about the 'Colonial Use of Slate in Victorian Schools' as proof that I'm a Living Fossil!

But that was in Victoria, a depraved State where they were much more urbane and cosmopolitan than over here in South Australia, and I'm proud to say that I grew up in Country South Australia, where we did things the RIGHT Way until well into the 1950's!

I live in the US, and my father used to tell tales of having to walk two miles to school, uphill both ways, through the snow.

The snow is a possibility, since he grew up in Southern Iowa, but there aren't any hills in the town where he grew up, and it's a really small town that is probably less than two miles from end to end.

But the stories sounded good.

Schedule your post departure message, and then every morning open the app and reschedule for the next day.

For my funeral the instructions are as follows.
1- dress me in a pair of jeans and a Tee shirt/ sweat shirt.( no one would know me in a suit)
2- Place a large sign in front of the casket saying " NO CRYING BY ORDER OF THE DEAD GUY"
3- All females are to wear their hottest "Little Black Dress" If I don't sit up a flirt with them, we will know that I am really DEAD.

The hwy 80/395 interchange through the heart of Reno was labeled as a 10-year project (yes, they said TEN years) It's been at least 3 years so far with no end in sight.
Just so glad I don't have to drive it each day. It's always a big traffic jam, with regular accidents.
