Default Will car ramps be okay to work under a Spyder

    Hi All:

I am thinking of adding underneath lighting, and what I see is I need to get under the bike to install the light strips. Would car ramps be safe and provide sufficient room to install underneath lighting?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jim

Yes .... I don't know of any after-market car ramps that can't hold the weight of any Spyder ...... To achieve more space to work, I'd turn the ramps backwards, and back onto them. ...... then use a floor jack, or scissor jack under the metal mounting TABS for the rear shock ..... In VERMONT, under vehicle lighting is illegal, but maybe your State allows it?? ..... Or you could put it on a switch, so you can shut it off easily .... Good luck ... Mike

I use car ramps anytime I need to be under there.

Traction to back onto ramps might be an issue.

I backed onto mine with no problem. Mine are composite and have rubber tabs underneath. No problem at all.

I use my ATV/Motorcycle jack to lift it up, then put the ramps under it backwards so they don't interfere with me being underneath. For me, it is less hassle to jack it up & then place the ramps.

Agree with Mike....just used car ramps (backing up onto them) to change my engine oil. I put chocks under the front wheels, and add a floor jack to level the trike.
