What would this Ticking sound in the wheels be? 2022 S2S
Hi, we just purchased a 2022 sea to sky. it now has almost 300 miles on it. we have noticed a steady ticking sound coming from ( it seems ) both front wheels. really like a tick tick tick tick constant while in motion. no so much at really low speeds like 5 but around 10 it starts.
what are the odds is something in the brakes? both wheels? or a bad bearing? brand new? both wheels? looking for thoughts or suggestions. i hate to put it in the shop and lose it for a couple weeks but i may have too.

Get a floor jack etc and raise up one front wheel a couple inches. Spin it and listen. Could be something in the brake pads / caliper, the ABS tone wheel on the back side, wheel bearing, tire to fender contact ...

All times or when letting off throttle? If constant might be crap in brakes. Not uncommon. Is when letting off could be belt cogs hitting the top of the floor board bracket. Sounds like a card in a bicycle spoke?

For those that were interested...
The dealer stated that they looked at the tires, lug nuts, bearings, and brakes. All normal. They took a test drive, and no unwarranted sounds were detected. Vented disc brakes will make a sound.
I'm glad they looked at it. I'm glad they didn't find anything major.
I'm 54 years old. I have had many vehicles and bikes. I know this is not a normal sound. I will continue to investigate on my own I suppose and see what I can see.

If you feel comfortable attempting an in-route audio recording... It can be tricky & there's a risk of dropping whatever device - Fair caution. It's curious that it's coming from both sides - sometimes you can hear the belt, usually when the engine's off & you're pushing the bike around - but that “should” reasonably only be heard on one side - the LHS; &/or you've got some awesome hearing Thanks for updating.

The vented brakes do tend to make some noise as the pads lightly rub the discs. This happens with most vehicles with vented discs. You don't hear it when in your car or on most two wheeled bikes because of the surrounding body or fenders. The front wheels on the Spyder are located in the perfect spot to be able to hear things that you wouldn't hear on another vehicle. If there isn't anything physically rubbing or loose I suspect it's the brakes you are hearing. The pads can and do make slight contact with the discs even more so when new. I know weird sounds on a new machine can be disturbing, but I don't think you have a problem.

Spyder rotors are solid no fins. Only the pad surface contacts the rotor.

Vented isn't the proper term, but they are drilled. Drilled discs can make noise when the pads rub them lightly.

Unless there's something caught in just one of the drilled holes on the discs... Then as that hole passes the pads, it ticks/clicks.... Do you really need to ask me how l know this can happen??
But I hafta ask, does this ticking change with speed or once it starts, is it a steady cadence no matter what speed you do from there on up?
Anyhow, here's a few thoughts - just putting some ideas out there, not necessarily in any order of likelihood or even really all that likely at all, but hey - for whatever it's worth?? And please bear in mind that odd noises can be amplified &/or carried all around the bike, so a noise that APPEARS to be coming from both sides up front could easily be coming from just one side &/or the rear!
Maybe one of your 'friends' has added something/some things or you've somehow picked up something somewhere that just touches a rotating part (the old 'card in the spokes' or 'zip tie on the drive-shaft' trick!)?? That prompts the idea that it might pay to closely inspect the index wheel for the speed sensors on the hubs of each wheel (even just a couple of bent tabs could do this??); check each of/all the holes in the brake discs; check the drive belt itself (there's not a tooth missing, or a small stone embedded in the belt, is there?); check the sprocket teeth on both sprockets for abnormalities; check the inside of each wheel well; the inside of each fender; the inside of each wheel (not a lifting wheel weight or two, is there?) I'd think that all of these and anything else rotating or possibly flapping in the breeze would be worth a good look maybe??

I have a similar sound on my 2021 RT.. I found that the sound is caused by the wheel balance weights mounted on the inside of the wheels (they are taped to the inside of the wheel). The sound appears to be airflow over the weight as the wheel turns.
