Lost the wire retaining clip fm Brembo Brakes - Do I need it?
I have lost the little wire clip that attaches to the torx bolt on a Brembo brake caliper. The torx bolt screws into the brake caliper and goes thru each brake pad. It seems to me that the only purpose of the wire clip is to keep the bolt from backing out of the caliper. I cannot find it in the BRP parts fiche or thru Cheap Cycle Parts. 1. Do I really need it? and 2. If so, where can I find one? I checked with BajaRon and he doesn't know where to get one.

ACE HARDWARE. It's a stock item, not proprietary.
Ours is a red, black and chrome 2017 F3 Limited. Bought new in 2/2019. The avatar is my first bike back in 1952, a Simplex Servi-Cycle. Photo taken at the Barber Museum.

But I don’t want to purchase the whole kit if I can avoid it.

Come on guys, it's not unobtanium, it's a hardware store item. If they don't have the exact item with the bend, an R-pin will suffice.
Since everyone wants to mail order everything now, I'll go to my ACE Hardware, pay maybe 10 or 12 cents and charge you $1.89 plus $5.95 shipping. What's your address? Sarcasm emoji.

I found the clip! I thought I had lost it but I found it on my garage floor. It had slid under my tool box. Thanks everyone for your help. If I ever need another replacement I will try ACE hardware.

Great you found it.
I was about to suggest a normal split pin.
Just been looking at the rear pad change.
Thought that pin was a good idea.
