I need an extended warranty after the 5 years BRP allows. Is there a company?
I need an extended warranty after the 5 years BRP allows. Is there a company out there that you can buy an extended warranty from after the 5 years? BEST has served me well the past 5 years, but that's as far as they will allow.

I used one from Zurich. It worked just fine the 2 times I used it. I paid my $50.00 deductible and they paid the rest.

Is Zurich the name of the company? What kind of claims did you have?

Looks like it is insurance, not an extended warranty.

I believe that is all you are going to find. In fact an extended warranty really is just insurance.

You do not tell us the year and model of Spyder, or most important, what kind of problems you have had with it when it was covered by the B.E.S.T. extended warranty. In my not so humble opinion, paying money out of one's pocket for mechanical insurance coverage on a vehicle that is over five years old is a waste of money if the machine has been reliable to date. In such a case I would just rat hole the funds in my own bank account. OTOH, if you have had problems with the vehicle during the time it was covered by the BRP extended warranty it's time to dump it and get a replacement.

I purchased a 5 year policy from Discount ESP in 2021 for my 2014 RTL. I paid less than a thousand dollars. Happily, I haven't had to use it but also happily I haven't used my nor my wife's life insurance policies which costs much more. Unlike Jaybros, I felt that 900+ dollars for 5 years is very reasonable and gives me peace of mind nor do I want to dump it as I have it set up to my riding pleasure with no loan payments.

LongIsland, If you don't mind, how many miles do you have on your Spyder? My B.E.S.T. warranty expired unused and I now have 77K+ on it with no problems other than parking brake motor replaced under factory warranty and the loan paid off in less than three years after purchase. I intend to ride it to at least 150K or until I can no longer swing a leg over the seat. The pandemic is in its third year of cramping my mileage and I, like you, have it set up to be extremely comfortable on long touring days.

Only have 23,300 on my 2016 F3T. Not ryding as much as I used to. Had to replace the wheel sprocket and belt drive. Only paid $50 deductible and the express shipping for the parts (I was traveling at the time). I'm going with DISCOUNT ESP which is an extended warranty. Buy two years, get the third year free.

I was wondering how these type of plans work. Do you pay out of pocket and then submit a claim with whoever issued the extended warranty or does the shop deal with them?

It works just like the Spyder warranty. $50 deductible for work to be done and the company pays the rest to the service department. Discount ESP.

Zurich is the name of the company. They replaced the compressor for me ($800) and the left side controller for a bad shifter paddle. That was about $600.

Does Zurich offer anything beyond their 2 year warranty?

I’ve used Zurich for years as well. Of the few claims made, on 2 different Spyders, each at different dealers, there has never been any issues with getting it covered.

I was approached by Discount ESP -they offer 2-5 yr plans after factory warranty (mine is 2014 RTS) the quote was 924$ (2yr) to 1444$ for 5yr.An additional option is a $400 wheel and tire coverage. Pay in full for discount or installments are additional. If one needs this insurance it's not out of this world. I did not opt for coverage. It's not my thing but the policy seems legit and has some benefits.

JayBros: I thought I answered your Q, but don't see it. I purchased the warranty through Discount ESP in April of 2021 about 10 months after my original 5 yr. extended warranty had expired (combination of BEST and other provider). I had 47,478 miles and now have about 55K. The warranty covers the same as the BEST with a 50 deductible. It is valid for 5 yrs or 50K miles so I figure in 2026 I will be looking for a new Spyder.

Also. I found (due to dealer incompetence) that if the dealer doesn't accept the warranty; you pay the dealer then the warranty company reimburses you directly.
