Sad times
Got my first ever social media suspension (not here). Not bragging, more a statement of the times. Someone posted a pic of a large horse and rider (no one special). Posted that in a short time someone will want this statue removed. Got a 2 day suspension.

About that suspension, just shrug it off. I do.
Simply consider the source of those inflicting the suspension, and realize often a mall cop mentality is used as judgement.

Sounds like you posted on a PRC or Iranian site! How dare you attack the tender minds or crowd-thinkers! Hopefully you won't get protesters at your front door and are still allowed to go to a restaurant without being hassled.

I'm guessing they don't tolerate any political or otherwise controversial off-topic posts, which is the norm for special interest forums. They're not 'social media' sites, after all.

Your response was actually quite funny, I think.
But, there's a difference between social media and special interest forums.

I guess there is.

Interesting take. I have been suspended or given "Infractions" on exactly two forums.
This one, and another Spyder based one on FB.
Something tying Spyder forums to PRC or Iran?

I had my wrist slapped here 1 time. I posted a South Park link that had "adult language" and it was taken down with a warning.
I understood that one but not the OP's topic or suspension.

Everything is upside down today. What used to be universally funny, is not anymore.

I got my last suspension for saying something like, "stupid should hurt" on one of those prank videos. I was told that I had "violent tendencies". I just wear the suspensions as a badge of honor.

I think if a person participates on a forum or any social media platform, that person is bound by the rules set by the owner. It's their game, their ball, and you are just their guest..... Jim

More to consider than just that. Agreed with the rules, but they should also be fair and consistent.

There seems to be no middle ground any more.
It's either all one way or the other.
Me I am so old, that I can remember when "Harass" was two words.

What used to be funny, but is now cringeworthy, is humor that comes at the expense of someone else, particularly misogyny and racism.

In these polarized times, good luck with that. I run into that myself. I was definitely born in the wrong era.

If you are not a "snowflake" and you view the world through a clear lens as it really is, and make your comments based on that framework, you'll surely get bumped.

AR, wear it as a badge of honor, FB is the very worst of all social media. FB has followers by the short hairs to track relatives and friends, that is a powerful tool.
