Windshield pro's and con's
Hey all the F3 owners out there. How many of you have...
1. Replaced your stock windshield with a similar size?
2. What maker did you go with?
3. Did it have the Euroflip on the top of the windshield?
4. If it didn't how much did wind noise increase or decrease?
5. Did it have the cutouts in it?
Trying to find out if it is worth it to replace the windshield with the same size but no vent holes. It is down to Gustafsson Windscreens and CalSci. I am leaning towards Gustafsson because they will make a repica of the factory windshield without the vent holes. I just don't know if it is going to cause more turbulence and noise or not. I would think that removing the two vent holes would decrease to wind noise.

Ive only had my F3 a couple of weeks but felt like changing the windshield was the first thing I needed to do after riding at highway speeds with the short factory one. I ended up going with the F4 Customs 25 inch windshield with the air wings. They come with or without vent or with lover style closeable vent. It made a huge difference but I still get some buffeting above 65 mph. Still dramatically better than the factory. Good luck!

Don't pull the trigger until you check into 7Jurock, my go-to for many years and many bikes. Cost $100s less than most and it's a quality product. My summer windshield is a 17" with the flip. It lets some breeze get on me, but nothing annoying. My winter w/s is a 18" that's 9" wider that stock, yet I can use the stock brackets. It is well below my eye level, yet it affords me great protection from the wind. It too has a flip.
7Jurock measures their w/s on the plastic, vertically top to bottom along the centerline. The 18" was a custom built to my specs, yet they charged me no more than a stock one of the same height - $170 shipped. Here's a photo of it. Sorry about the upside down, I don't know how to fix it.

2018 F3L here:
I replaced stock shield with Lamonster's 15". Then I added the adjustable MRA X-Creen Tour Spoiler Blade. This combo works very well for me.
No added turbulence to speak of.
I wear modular helmet and ear plugs so I can't comment on wind noise.
I think your body type/structure is going to affect how any windshield will work for you.

I'm the oddball here, but I replaced an aftermarket Madstad windshield with the BRP Blue Ridge Windshield on my F3S. I like the look of the Blue Ridge windshield and it does fine with my height. I'm 5'8".

I have a Lamonster 15" Freedom it has a slight flip, it's great in warm weather. Sometimes I think about getting an F4 Customs 21" with vents for more protection on cross country trips, but I think 21" might be to high for me @5'-8".

I'm 5'-10" and shrinking. Don't go by my w/s heights, establish your own. Clip or tape a piece of rectangular cardboard to the top of your w/s and go for a ride. Raise and lower the cardboard until the top is at the desired height, then measure.

I have gone through about 5 different windshields for my F3T. For the most wind protection, I liked the Value Accessories shield. It gave me extra height and extra width. I later came across a F4-21" shield. It was nice, but did not have the added width, without spending the extra funds for the wings. It was the same height as the one from Value accessories and really didn't add anything to make it stand out. I also picked up one off ebay that was pretty nice, but really just a cheaper copy of the F4. I have decided to stay with the stock shield for summer months and I cut 3" off the Value accessories for the winter months. The F4 is a backup for the winter, but not quite as good since it gives up about 4" in total width.

Had Dealer replace stock w/s on my 2020 F3-T at time of purchase with Can Am Big Boy. Worked well for me and I really like the look. Wife said she gets more wind sometimes than she likes so I changed (see below). Will sell Big Boy including mounts. PM if interested. Product # 219400596. Perfect condition.
Installed 7Jurock w/ flip at top, 21", no tint, no cut out or vents. Again, works well for me, wife is still deciding her opinion (figures).

Regarding what wives, or any passenger feels, my wife says she is in a calm when the 18" winter windshield is on. That's the 9" wider custom that 7Jurock made to my design. It has a flip, as do all my windshields past and present. Note that it uses the stock brackets - nice!

Is the same windshield used in both pictures shown in this post?
In the first pic the windshield looks almost flat or square along the top.
In the second pic the windshield looks much more rounded at the top.
Thanks, David C.

Quick question....bought a standard 25 " f4 custom windshield from a fella...came with 8 flat washers he said go on either side of the 4 hole attachments ....I see no mention of these washers on any install videos ...my windshield has the rubber grommets and metal inserts.....so do I use these washers or not...I see no mention on any f4 custom videos of these washers. Thanks !!

Well.... I have a 2016 F3 Ltd still with the stock screen. One of the first things that I added was the adjustable X-screen (don't buy the cheap Chinese single mount version, a POS) I have it adjusted to almost vertical (about 15 deg aft) in front of the stock screen (clamp on version not the screw mount version). The top of it is about 3 1/2" above the lip of the stock screen. My sightline is about 2" above it. I don't like looking through a screen. I can ride with my visor all the way open at 75 MPH without buffeting. The wife never complains about buffeting on the back. Believe me, she would let me know if there was. On the highway I usually have my visor cracked for ventilation and the occasional bug that will get through the slipstream. This setup works for me (5'9") and I've gone 20K miles without ever adjusting it. Just an alternate setup to throw out there for folks to consider. Heading off to the Blue Ridge campground in NC on the 27th for a COG get together. I'll be at Suches Ga in September for another COG event then to the Maggie Valley Spyder one in October as well. Ride safe and enjoy life!
Life is attitude, be positive!

The nose knows
I'm 6'5" and the stock windshield let the wind smack my helmet around. Got a taller shield. When you sit on the bike the top of the shield should be at your nose (according to many manufacturers). I found a used one on eBay, and all the wind is gone, and I can hear my stereo now.
