After it has sat for hours the oil level is now at the min mark, from what I read from trikermutha link this looks like that's how it should be so Ill have to clean off the back of the engine and re-test to see if the was the cause of my oil seepage problem.
jcthorne stated this : All this aside, the BRP Spyder owners manuals used to have 2 procedures for checking oil, one cold and one hot and it cause lots of confusion. I can tell you that a Spyder (998 or 1330) that has proper oil level at operating temp will be just at the bottom of the dipstick when cold. Not an exact measure but its great for a go / no go for a ride.

Found oil drips on my 2021 with less than 100 miles today. Source seems to be a sensor just above the transmission filter. Not sure what the sensor is. Cleaned the area and let it run. No immediate leakage. Will have to ride for an hour and check again.

Mine was overfilled by 16 to 17 oz of oil. I just removed the excess yesterday and will be testing today.
Your the third one to have this oil leak issue on the 2021's, can you show us where you see the leak(pic)? I miss my 2018 as 15 mins it was wide open to work on everything, this 2021 not so much.

Here is my oil level after getting the engine hot and fans come on after idle down for 10 mins. My oil was over full by 16-17 oz of oil!
Will this be the cause of the oil leak?
Ill be cleaning it down with some brake clean today and will do some more riding to find out.

Can Ams dipstick sucks!
I think it was over full a little as I kept taking some out, then let idle for a few mins and recheck. After all that I could finally see where the oil level was as the picture shows.
*sorry for the blurry pics - looks like its just below the x on MAX.
The end result was this!
Looks like 1/2 qt over full.
I checked my oil level today and it was overfilled the same amount as yours. I still need a warm day to take it for a long ride to make sure no more leaks.

Thanks for the update!! I've been cleaning my underside with brake cleaner to get all the oil off of everything. 3rd can!!!!!
If this was caused from overfill where does it come out at? My air box was clean and dry, any ideas?
Oil has penetrated everything and I'm up to my 3rd can of brake clean!

Here is my update.
Cleaned everything and let idle for an hour and nothing leaking.
Took out for a short ride and it was leaking on the left rear as you can see from the pics so I went bonkers and tore that side apart.
This maybe from the over fill - maybe from the dipstick tube on the other side as I see it has a set of o rings and clips in.
I'm hoping this is all the leftover from it being so overfilled as the last pic shows how deep area is and maybe from the hard exceleration is letting this oil out?
*Notice the last pic the holes are not full so just maybe its just all the excess coming out (praying)

After more digging I think it porosity in the block! Here's after I cleaned it then let idle for about 20 mins. You can see to top hole with some oil in it.
This will go directly to BRP, I'm not wasting my with a dealership as I bought this from Imotorsports in Illinois.
My 2018 lost the DRS going around a turn and I almost had a head on collision less than 1000 miles, so why not start off on the wrong foot on the 2021 with 500 miles.
I was hoping for something simple.

The casting in your first picture looks a good bit like a Monday morning or late Friday job. Sure hope BRP care comes through for you.

Im sure they will, just the point of not having it repaired for several weeks to over a month if the engine block is the problem.
I'm going to investigate some more and send BRP a nice email about this issue and see what they have to say. Im hoping its just the black cover above it, and I'll use a Q-tip to see if any oil is wicking down into the hole and leaking out of the casting.
UPDATE: I filled both cavities with wd40 this morning, the top cavity is dry at 4pm so this concludes the casting is bad and there's a hole in the block.
BRP was contacted.................................

Those cavities are dry on my block. My leakage seems to be all from being overfilled with oil. Yours may still be the same because the intake is right above those cavities and may be oil seeping down from the intake manifold. Now that mine has the correct oil level, I will put 1000 miles on it and see how things are. Should be fine now.

i oil coming from fill tube dear found vent tube kinked after fixing vent tube no more oil coming from fill tube

I would say BRP should fork over a new bike and take that one back!!! It's called a lemon in my book , and that way you will not loose any riding time in the process!!

Yes, that's why I had to find the problem first, makes it a faster turn around from BRP when they get back to me...... Hopefully they will just get me a new engine and be done. Nobodys fault just one slipped by, is it the casting, machining inside? Probably never know.

With alum castings you don't know, all it takes is a small sand pocket!! Good catch!!! And good luck with the battle, there should not be a fight, but unless you live next to the factory, good luck finding a GOOD shop you trust to swap out a engine in time to ride this year!! That's why I said a swap would be a great deal in my book!!!! Good Luck hope it all works out for you!!

Very unlikely based on the surface texture and modern methods to reduce that these are sand casted. Could be, but likely die cast. Most production motorcycle engine cases have been made that way for about 50 years.
