If you live in California, you do NOT need a motorcycle Lic. to ride that.
any 3 wheeled unit is an autocycle an can be operated with a regular drivers Lic...

Your subject reminds me of an incident a trucker friend was telling me about. A trucker was pushing it really hard across Texas when a state trooper stopped him. "Let me see your pilot's license!" So the trucker handed him one. He flew private planes. The trooper broke out laughing and said no one had ever done that before! So he let the trucker go with an admonishment to hold it down!
