Default 2020 RT - anyone had success using iPod hook up?

Has anyone successfully hooked up an iPod to their sound system on a 2020 RT?

I have tried various MP 3 players but reverted to an old iPod Nano in desperation.

I just want to get music through the Spyders speakers... no headset, no Bluetooth just straight through sound.

Help appreciated. Dealers do not understand how their product’s system works.

How have you hooked them up, VIA the USB port or the aux headphone connecter?

We're using an ipod and a sandisc player (separately) plugged into both the headset and the USB port. The iPod will not connect. The sandisc will play through the Spyder but not without a data blocker between the power cord on the sandisc player and the USB port in the glove box but that just defeats the ability to operate the volume, playlist selection and song choices on the Spyder controls.

I am nut sure, but my understanding is it is an either or type of thing. I pug mine into the USB port only and it works fine. I have also hooked it up VIA bluetooth only and that works. I have never used the headphone style plug on any of my players.
By hooking it to both are you perchance sending mixed signals back and forth?

The iPOD that I had used for my 2014 didn't have bluetooth capability, so when I bought my 2020 RTL, I also bought the latest version of iPOD touch. I was looking forward to using it as a music source.
When I plugged it into the USB and aux connection I found that I couldn't connect the bluetooth. I tried just the power connection in the back. No bluetooth joy. I tried pairing it when it was on battery power alone. Again no joy.
I finally wound up using an old Samsung Galaxy 7 as my bluetooth music player.
I completely failed at connectiong an iPOD as a music source.
It appears that BRP is also looking for all the smartphone functions, even if you don't use them.
If it ain't broke, don't break it.

We got an Ipod Nano 2nd Gen to play thru thr Spyder speakers. We used the front compartment USB. Ipod must be charged, turned on and playing BEFORE you plug into the bike.

Volume only, no song selections thru the bike.
