TricLED contact?
I've been trying to reach TricLED for a week. I've submitted a request via their website and rec'd a reply that they rec'd my "email" but nothing since the middle of last week. I've also called them numerous times daily and can't get through although I've left them a few voice messages.
I have a question for them about one of their products. Are they still in business? Did Ohio get hit by the latest hurricane or volcano? Any suggestions?

I don't know who I was calling but that's the number I've been calling. I guess they don't want my business.

I think one must remember that in this coronavirus upheaval many companies have large number of employees working remotely and as much as we would like instantaneous response we may have to suffer waiting in a queue somewhere to do business with a particular firm. Tricled is a small business and we as individuals have no idea what they may be going through to remain in business. An alternative for someone in an unstoppable hurry -- Sling Mods is a Tricled distributor.

I understand completely. The company I work for has the same issues (although we're a Fortune 40 company and HUGE). But....if they won't reply to an email and/or return a phone call, CV or not, they're not going to continue to succeed.

I've called Slingmods. My question is a technical one and they referred me to TricLED. I'm guessing SpyderPops would do the same.
TricLED has a rear bag light that replaces the stock reflector. They supply an inline harness that (according to Slingmods install video) uses (2) of (5) leads for the lights. I don't care so much about the lights. Even with the LEDs off, it's still a reflector. What I wanted to know was if I could use a different set of the leads to power the LEDs as turn signals only. I don't know if one of the leads goes to the stock turn signals. If so, it might work. I'm just not willing to part with $60 and rip apart the rear end of my bike to be a guinea pig. TricLED put the harness together and they'd know for sure. That's why I've been trying to reach them.

Which specific product are you looking at? Unless the LED strip is made to act as turn signals I don't think there's any way to use it for such. If only two leads go to the light strip then the LED is one continuous strip of lights with no way to split it into two.

I'm not sure if it would work or not. I know less about wiring than I do about steering head bolts (that's humor there, son. Humor, I say). (That was my Foghorn Leghorn impression.) I was thinking, if all a turn signal needs is hot and ground and one of the wires coming out of the TricLED harness goes to a turn signal (and there's obviously a ground), when the turn signal flashed on, so would the bag light. I dunno. Seemed like a great way to get a side facing, rear turn signal. Sixty bucks for a side facing, rear turn signal seemed like a pretty good deal, especially an LED turn signal. More lights are great but nobody sees us when we're turning or changing lanes.

Plug the Tricled harness into the bike harness per instructions. Most likely the black wire will be ground. Turn on the hazard flashers and test each of the other leads with a test light or voltmeter and see which one gives the flashing signal. Plug the new light into the selected wires and see it flash!

Good idea except I don't have the unit. I don't want to buy it if I can't use it for turn signals. I'm not even sure if the wiring harness has a wire for the turn signals and if it does, I don't know that it would work (although I don't know why it wouldn't). That's why I was trying to reach TricLED. I'd like them to 1) confirm there's a turn signal wire on each side and 2) confirm it will light the LED as a turn signal. I mean, if it works, I'd be the 1st but it's not worth $60 for the unit plus my time and frustration trying to open up the back of the bike and test the wires just to find out it won't work or there's not a turn signal wire.
I think Slingmods is the only one who carries this unit and since they can't help me, I think anybody else would just be guessing. Now, if someone wanted to buy the unit AND install it on my bike just to see if it would work, I'm good with that. Otherwise, if I can't reach TricLED, I'll just let it go. It just seemed like such a good idea.

I have them as designed and they're great, I never thought about them blinking like turn signals as they're down so low, though that would be good for side approaching vehicles.
I guess I went overboard with the front light kit that does have side blinkers and the mirror outside blinkers and the Multi-Functional Trunk Mounted LED Light Kit for the Can-Am Spyder RT by Show Chrome in the rear that is one of the best visibility options out there. Hope you reach Reggie and Cindy at TricLED. They're usually VERY responsive and helpful.

I wasn't aware. Phone call coming your way sometime this morning, Rick.

I don't see why it won't work as a blinker light. It just might not be a plug and play type of thing though. Your going to have to tap into the blinker wire on each side of the bike. I think it should work though as you described

Not answering e-mails or the phone during business hours can be a problem. I have also encountered it. Not being a patient person, they ultimately lose my business. I don't get mad, I end up going elsewhere.
I will refrain from saying who, when, and where.

I agree that this will work, The 5 wire connector for the rear lights on the Spyder contain the following 4 signals; Ground, Run, Turn and Brake. The Black wire is ground, it's just a matter of finding the turn signal by using a voltmeter as IdahoMtnSpyder mentioned. I would also document and save which signal is on the wires for future reference in case you want to add some more LED's to the rear of your Spyder.
Here is a kit from Spyderpops that offer Run/Turn which is a popular wiring configuration for the Saddlebag Led, https://spyderpops.com/rt-2020/led-l...rn-led-lights/

Thanks, gentlemen! Greatly appreciate the help. I spoke directly with Rick yesterday. His suggestion was to get any/all rear LEDs I was planning on installing and install them all at once. He said it takes him about an hour and a half to open up the back and reassemble so it would probably take me most of a day. No reason to do it more than once. I'm looking @ a few options now although I just gave him over $600 so my budget is tapped out right now.
Thanks, again!
