Fog Light Switch
The light in my fog light switch has seemed to have burnt out. (2014 RT-Ltd)
2 questions...
Is the switch all-in-one and the whole thing needs to be replaced or is there a bulb in the switch that can be replaced?
Can anyone give guidance how to remove the switch, does it just pull up from the top or do I need to remove the top panel and get at it from underneath?
Any help is appreciated!

On my ST the switches are a-in-one. The bulbs are integral to the switches.
The switch pulls out from the top BUT... It is easiest the remove the panel as all
of the switches plug into big sockets that float under the panel.
Good Luck.

Definitely suggest removing the dash of switches & unplug the necessary connector. While there you will see the plastic arms that hold switch in place, should be able squeeze them in & push switch out of dash . Prying from top can be done but may lead to damage of switch or dash. The spring arms are made to be one way pushed in dash from top then they spring out like barbs to just hold in place. getting fingers between the other switches to squeeze is a trick, few ways to try : use flathead screwdrivers on either side, or go ahead & remove the multiple switches to gain access. (Know & remember what plugs go where!) & reassemble accordingly.
(is complicated for some)

Actually on this topic has anyone done a video on replacing/fitting switches to that panel on an RT?

Would love to see a video on panel switch replacement.

Just changed my fog light switch on my RT. It was an easy fix. Press in the tabs on each side of the switch with a thin device and pull it out gently. When you see the wires, wrap a string(shoe laces) around the wire bundle. Gently pull off the connector and replace the switch. Remove shoelace and reinsert. 5 minute job and no panels removed.
YMMV.

Sounds much easier than what I have heard others say in needing to remove a bunch of stuff to get to the bottom of the switches! I will take a look when I get home.

Just popped out the fog light switch alone. It came out pretty easy with no damage to the switch panel.

Thanks Dave,
I asked for future reference as all the switches on my 2014 RTs are still( ?) good.

Lew:
My fog light switch went bad over the winter . It was in the ON position in storage and it stopped rocking. I left ON this year and replaced it a few months ago after finding a new one.
Note to self: Turn off all switches before storing away the Spyder.

Or put a little electrical spary lube on them every now and then!

There's a tool for removing staples that looks like a flat blade screw driver that has the tip splayed out and curved up. I haven't tried it but I think it would be perfect to slide under the switch and push back the locking wings of the switch and lift it up and out of the hole. Let me know if it works.

True. But the Spyder was in storage down the street. Out of sight, out of mind for too long.
