Apparently Not All Rykers Have Defective Wheel Nuts
Checked with my nearest (but not near) dealer about a few issues, and they said mine (purchased I think around April) is not part of recall. They did say that there is one for mine regarding some handle bar washer though.

There are specific VIN numbers that are on the notice. I spoke to BRP today. They will check to see if our school is on those VINS. We have class Saturday morning.

Correct - the washer needs to be replaced per BRP - however the dealer that sold me my bike did not advise me and BRP did not either - it was another dealer with which I had work done locally!
I think it is BRP's responsibility to advise re these things - I hope they do this and maybe I will receive a notification from them shortly.

It is my understanding (I could be incorrect] that the issue with the washer and another early problem were not considered "safety recalls" and were taken care of with TSB s (technical service bulletins) which would be fixed by the dealer next time you take the bike in for service. Like autos there is no requirement to notify owners for TSB s. It is not considered a safety defect.

Interesting....🤔
The more they move about which could and which are etc making one wonder if it is not worth just ordering the new and improved nuts and eliminate the worry. May , in the end, end up that BRP will mail everyone new ones like they did back when there was that issue with the gas caps...

Not likely that they will mail anything out for owner install, NHTSA was not happy with BRP when they mailed out the gas caps, unless a dealer makes the repair and reports it to BRP there is no way to know how many units were repaired.

I contacted my dealer service Dept and they told me that they had the hub nuts on order and they expected them in next week. I asked whether or not I should drive my Ryker and they said it probably is not a good idea until I bring it in to have them changed out. Mine are not cracked, by the way. Sounds to me like the service Dept is being pretty decent about it and responsible, but that is just my opinion. They told me that when the nuts come in they will call me to set up an appointment to have mine changed out. Personally, I would ride mine, but the spouse says a big "NO." Guess she is not quite ready to collect on the life insurance so she does not want me taking any chances. Actually, the chances of mine being defective enough to crack on short rides is probably about one in a hundred. Just an unscientific guesstimate.

I wouldn't worry about riding it. There are only 7 documented cases out of almost 7,000 vehicles. I think your odds are pretty good they wont fail.

What gas caps? First I've heard about this. What was the issue with the caps?

Don't know, but since the Ryker doesn't have a gas cap I'm assuming this was something on the Spyder.

I understand that the bad ones are Feb. 2019 and after mfg. date. Mine is NOT part of recall, and was mfg. in 12/18.
