Didn't want to hijack the recent belt vibration thread. So one of the first mechanical add ons I have planned is a tensioner. Which one BRP with Lamonster roller or the aftermarket one or any other options? Thank you. 2017 RT-S. Thanks in advance.
I'm running the Roaster Renovations and it seems like a very well built piece of equipment. I consider it one of my (I did say my, YMMV) best bang for the buck investments so far, it's right up there with the car tires I installed.
But in every silver cloud, there must be some darkness. a very respected young lady that has about a gazillion miles on various Spyders had one of the rollers fail on this kit. failed at 50,000 miles I believe, think it may have messed up the belt, but not sure. So on this one, or any other brand of them, realize the roller is comparatively small, turns a whole lot of rotations on small sealed bearings, and needs inspecting at least once a year or when ever you have the plastic off whichever is sooner. I'm going to replace the roller at 25,000 miles whether it needs it or not. Rollers are cheap, belts aren't.

Another vote for R/R tensioner. ALways thought I'd just get the vibes out with belt tension adjustments and alignment, but the tensioner does help. I caved in and bought one this spring. So far so good

Just so I don't spread hearsay and gossip, what was the actual factual on the roller failure? Did it wipe out the belt? I believe I heard 50,000 miles when it failed, is that correct? I'm trying to get a handle on my replacement frequency, and your help is appreciated. I'm thinking 25,000 miles may be about right, replace it before it fails, kinda like the rear wheel bearings.
