Must be defective...I haven't been out too much since the update and I'm just now starting to tweak the JB again...no problems...it really does help performance though...it's range is wide enough so that it should run just fine with any updates...

The JB is the best performance enhancer for the $$ that I know of for the Spyder; If operating properly and set properly it can be a real asset to your performance and overall operation.

No expert here, but as I understand it...anything electronic can be defective and given a target duty cycle and design life it is probably most likely to go defective early on - that's called infant mortality. Others please chime in and correct as needed.

The fact that you cannot change the settings - or make them stick - is a pretty good indicator.

I do NOT have a JB BTW - just a fair amount of broken electronic stuff.

I agree that if you followed the directions, yet cannot change the settings, the unit may be defective. As to the performance, as delivered, that is another thing altogether. One of the big difficulties with things like the JuiceBox and Power Commander is that they must be tuned to suit the engine they are installed on. Improperly tuned units can make an engine run much worse than when it started out. These are not merely bolt-on enhancements! In addition, a box like the JB will offer little or no improvement, and may actually hurt performance, if the motorcycle is stock in every other respect. They need at least a performance exhaust to to be effective. Hope you get to the root of your problem.

Agreed...need better, free flowing pipe and certainly better airflow of some sort...

I'm just fiddling with mine now, after the update...no update issues and I hope the JB further improves performance...it really helped a lot before the update...
