    Default Undressed Ryker Photos

Thought I'd post some pictures of an undressed Ryker that was on display at the dealer conference. You can see the belt cover pretty well in a couple of the photos, and how minimalist it really is. Very simple, very clever design

It appears from these shots that the engine is installed longitudinally, is that correct?

Where does the gas tank go and where is the "gas cap" access?

    Default engine configuration

Yes. The crank is aligned with the chassis, the CVT drive clutch runs straight off of it (see pictures from the rear) so there isn't much "loss", it goes thru the belt to the driven clutch pulley, which powers a very simple forward/reverse gear box. There is a lever on the left to select either F or R, and above, near your left knee, is a lever to lock it in "park". Of course the output shift of the gearbox turns the driveshaft to the rear differential. As for the 600 vs 900, it is simply a matter of 2 cylinders or 3.

I think he meant the cover for the CVT belt he mentioned in another post about maintenance. The big black plastic bit in photo 3 that looks like it's off the back of a washing machine!!

Does the lever have to be held in the reverse position is does it lock into reverse? I'm interested because I have a prosthetic left leg (full length) so couldn't operate it with my left foot, but I could reach it to move it into place with my hand I imagine.

There is a belt from the drive clutch to the driven clutch (CVT Transmission). The driven clutch is connected to the gear case which drives the drive shaft to the rear wheel. See picture on this page: https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/exper...hnologies.html

Okay, okay! We get it! Cruzr Joe and I apologize for our possible misunderstanding. We don't know which cover the OP was talking about ,so I think we all know now that the CVT is belt-driven and the rear wheel is shaft-driven. Everybody can just move along now.

I'm hoping the Silver Grill (below Radiator) and 2 side grills near wheels will be add ons for the Normal Version because they really help the appearance No matter what color you choose. My dealer says I'm crazy to trade in the F3 BUT he got to the meeting Late and NEVER drove one?

Does that whole upper assembly pivot up/forwards on the production model? That would greatly enhance access to the engine bay.

Wonder if some customizer will come up with a sleek swoopy racer (non-tractor) looking body panels, that would open up a whole new industry. More like their Sea Doo and Ski Doo lines.

    You're not actually wrong...
The final drive is by shaft
The belt operated transmission is where things get a little bit "wonky"...

    Shaft drive, and belt transmission!

And what's with no lug nuts??? Do the wheels slide onto a splined axle and held on with a single nut and safety pin?

Early information stated that there is only ONE saddlebag due to the shaft guard on the left side. We joked about it in an early thread--but I don't know if the issue was totally resolved.

There is a cover under the handle bars that slides back toward the seat to expose the gas fill. There is no actual cap.

    Default Rear fender differences

    Just a thought......

Am I the only one who noticed that the Rally model has only a small "splash" fender over the rear tire and the regular one has a full fender?

Seems like the off road model would just make a mess of the underside with the shorter fender.
