New to the Spyder World
So I love speed and plans were to go back to riding crotch rockets but my wife didn't like my plan....So here I am. Three weeks ago I went out and purchased a 2017 Spyder F3-T cause they seemed to have some sport to them and a backseat to keep her happy. I'm learning to get use to not dragging my knee and hoping to have some fun with this new machine. The only thing I can say that has stood out to me is I think they need another gear. RPM's seem high at highway speeds around 80 mph. I'm looking forward to learning lots of great info from all of you and thanks for letting me join.

Welcome. We use our Spyder as a two up ride too. But we still kept our sport bikes because they're too much fun.

Compared to the 998 twin cylinder they do have another gear. Six vs. Five. The 998's did not come alive until above 5500 rpms. The red line was somewhere around 9,000 (forgive me if I am not perfect on this). The 1330's like the 3,500 range but higher is not an issue. Red line is around 7,500 on the 1330's. You are not going to hurt the engine if you go fast. The rev-limiter will prevent you from to high an rpm application.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)
MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles
IT HAS BEEN A LONG, WONDERFUL, AND FUN RIDE.
