    Default Frunk lid won`t open

    Hello!

Today I was unable to unlock the frunk lid. I tried to push the frunk down, move it and all other things, but nothing. The frunk is totally empty and I have never had a problem with it before.

Is it possible to open the F3 frunk lid manually or does anyone know how I could get it open?

It might get you better answers if you tell us what model year machine you have......as I think the mechanism changed somewhere along the line.
But maybe not for the F3 ??

Default Not sure about the F3.....

But on my RT I can access the cable by popping out the speaker grill. I've gotten mine stuck a couple of times and opening the seat latch seemed to make the frunk cable function again. You have to be very methodical and deliberate when pushing down and turning the key to open the frunk. It doesn't like it when you just try to open it willy-nilly. The dam thing should be computer operated like everything else. LOL

I have tried everything, but nothing. I try to locate the cable and see if I can make it work again. I have a road trip plans for this week and I must get it open somehow

Default Do a search on this site for ways to open your frunk.............

I remember seeing somewhere on this site of how to open your frunk using some common or home grown tools. Go look at one that works and figure out how you can trip it open. Did your key return to the center position?

    Default Frunk

Remove left access panel. Peer in, while turning key like you are opening the Frunk. Spot the cable. Pull down on cable until latch opens. Spray silicone or WD40 on latch, work it several times. Spray the latch post. Close Frunk, open with key.

For the future you could put a release cable from the latch to somewhere in the wheel well.
