Spyder crash
Got rear ended at a traffic light by a AAA truck. Driver didn’t see that the light turned red, hit me at full speed without breaking. The Spyder held up to the hit well. Going to the dealership tomorrow to see how much damage there is. Hopefully it’s fixable. 60918D1B-2ABF-42B6-8357-37F4592F68CE.jpgDA90CA74-98EC-4EBC-8CE3-64FB8246CD25.jpg0B93F8B6-044B-4069-BD29-66AC98689F0F.jpg

WOW! You're very fortunate to walk away unhurt and amazing that the Spyder fared so well.
I probably shouldn't ask, but........I'm going to anyway. Did AAA give you a free tow?
On the road again...........and forever young!

Make sure that EVERY INCH of the bike is inspected and tested. A lot of potential for hidden damage that will cause issues later. Been there, done that, but no T-shirt

My rear end accident cost them 4K and it took almost 2 months to get it out of the dealership.
Do make sure they check the frame. Test all of your electrical switches too. My hazard lights went bad with the impact I guess ($400.00 part).
Glad to hear you walked away unhurt.

No, no, NO! He's not unhurt. He's obviously delirious from all the pain and hasn't spoken to his attorney yet.
Just kidding. I hope you are all right. As a retired lawyer from back in the days when lawyers were professionals, I just abhor today's ambulance chasers.
There is a story that I like. All the kids in kindergarten were telling the class what their daddies do for a living. Little Johnny says, "My daddy plays piano in a whorehouse." The teacher was shocked and called Johnny's dad to ask him if that was true. Johnny's dad said, "Well, I told him that but it's not true. I'm actually a lawyer but how can you tell something like that to a child who loves and admires you?"

God was watching over you for sure ..!! A lot of folks are way too distracted these days. I will never understand why that text msg. This will take TIME
Super glad your OK, I am betting your Spyder will be at the dealer for a good chunk of riding season....
I would tell the insurance company you want them to pay for a rental while yours is in the shop.
Don't take NO for an answer.

100%! Don't let them screw you around. You have AAA by the you know what, and don't sign off on the medical.

It's obviously NOT 'full speed' and if he hadn't 'braked' you wouldn't be here to tell the story.
So, how about giving us the unembellished facts of the situation?
what does it matter whether it was at full speed or not? The OP had an accident, he is safe and sound and that is the bottom line here. Stop pressing a issue that firstly is none of your business nor does it have any relevance to his posting.

I think it matters because he is showing us pictures with very little damage to the Spyder, but then saying it was caused by a tow truck running into him at full speed with no 'breaking'.
Obviously, if that were true (very little damage to Spyder or rider after being rear-ended by a tow truck), the Spyder is made of better stuff than I thought (and so is the rider).
Obviously, something doesn't make sense here; I'm asking the OP to clear things up. What is wrong with that?
These threads are more useful when the facts of the situation are known.

Do you think the truck and driver are covered by Nationwide? If the truck was yellow and had AAA on the door then AAA has got a stake in this. Thankfully the spyder owner is ok and that's the bottom line.
