New RT Passeneger Armrests
Just wondered if any one has installed a set of the new BRP passenger arm rests for RT? They appear to be pretty easy to install. Just wondering if they extend out far enough to provide a descent amount of comfort. Also concerned how durable the installation might be?

Mine are on delivery today. Plan on install this weekend. Will post results by Monday.

Put mine on a couple of weeks ago there great they seem durable and my wife luvs them I let the dealer install them.

Installed mine , install not to hard, watch YouTube video. Very durable and looks like they belong !

I was wondering the same as the OP. I watched the video and it appears they only extend far enough for your elbows to rest on them(assuming your passenger is a skinny person). I installed the Show Chrome armrests for my dad and his girl fits them great. She can rest her forearm on those. Why cant BRP do anything right? The finally made an armrest that looks stock, but isnt long enough for true passenger comfort. Their engineers suck!

Joel, it must be their models have different arm/elbow/forearm lengths or something, my wife has already sat on a spyder with the BRP armrests and her elbows to forearm fit perfect.
She's still deciding whether we'll get them for our Spyder, but she thought they worked great, folded up out of the way when not needed (mounting/dismounting), and my greatest concern, comfortably felt like she could put her full weight on one side while getting off the bike. Though I gotta admit, she's already fallen asleep back there on a sunny day riding through Wisconsin last year without the armrests.... Granted she is 5'8" and 130 lbs or so. She'd say their engineers hit it out of the park. But there are SO many different sized folks that they do seem optimally designed for a small group of folks, much smaller and they'd be too high etc.
I was happy that I could put some weight on them and didn't feel like they'd come off or damage the speaker housings. And I prefer the lift up versus the swing out design, but that's why there are so many variations (by different manufacturers) so folks who want chrome bars that swing away when needed or folks who want flip up when needed can have what they want.

Larry....I am in the process of installing these arm rests on my 2016RT. I can’t fingure out how to remove the antennae. How did you do it?.......thx....brian
update.....I figured it out. I left the antennae attached to the brass mounting block and detached the mounting block from the plastic speaker housing.

BrianO , I already had a shorty on , so I could unscrew easily. If you have the original antenna, then follow Mike’s suggestions, long socket slide over antenna use vise grip on socket (7m) I think. Good lick! Be careful removing plastic cover from speaker housing, it is tricky!

Shorter passanger
My wife is 5' 1" and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with riding with the armrests. It seems like it might be too high for a shorter person to ride comfortably.
When I bring my Rt in to the dealer, I am thinking of getting arm rests with good padding added to my ride. Would hate to spend the money to find that they will be more of a liability than an asset.

Just watched the video at the Can-Am store. I agree, they do not look to extend very far. Do there come out about mid arm, or just past the elbow? I know, it all relative to the passenger's arm, but it is a good indication.

Please excuse this newbie question, but I'm curious about the armrests. Don't the armrests inhibit the ability of the passenger to shift their body weight to the inside of the turns? To my "new to Spyders" mind, it looks like the passenger would become essentially a sack of potatoes, dead weight, rather than having an ability to counteract the body lean.
Our first entry into a downhill sweeper was "interesting" and required the rapid application of body english.

I just asked my wife, and she doesn't shift her weight. As the driver, I don't notice the difference.
