2019 f3-s
i have a 2015 f3-s . after seeing new 2018 dash i wouldn't trade.
at 83 i couldn't read new dash - too small also way too much info
with that crazy knob. my 15 fs-3 has only 11000 miles in one year
mine is setup just right. saddle bags, top box, windshield. baja-ron
sway bar, 2 up rear shock, air hawk seat and even a handle bar
drink holder, at my age who needs a new one. ike

1800cc
i got my F3-S in Feb. 2015... i was hoping that BRP would up the cc's to 1800 or more for 2018 models, but it didn't happen... if or when they do up the engine displacement, that'll be my next one... until then, i'll keep my 2015...

The 2018 F3-S is unchanged from the previous years. It did not even get the new dash.
I agree its time for some performance in the line up.

I am thinking the next engine selection will be less rather than more. Think the $10K that has been talked about.
I am also holding out for an 1800 cc (prefer the GW version) also.
The market has been changing a bit this last year.
Yamaha has a new 1800CC TWIN in a touring version--called the Eluder.
Honda has revamped the GW and made it leaner and meaner.
Both are becoming good choices and at $23,500 and $23,900 both are very good entry level prices. I am seriously going to look at both, once my move is accomplished.
$10K less is a very tempting price level.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)
MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles
IT HAS BEEN A LONG, WONDERFUL, AND FUN RIDE.

I see BRP just released a 150hp turbo 900 (900ACE Turbo) for their 2019 snowmobiles. Maybe that will find its way into a Spyder?

Next Motor
I'm not sure how much motor is enough or too much for a Spyder. I once had a 2010 Triumph Rocket III Touring which had 151 foot pounds of torque and something in the neighborhood of 120 horsepower. I don't believe we would ever need that much motor but something in the 1600cc to 1800cc size range would be nice. It could be another triple or maybe even a V4 configuration. The big touring models like the RT and F3 Limited could use the additional power & torque for two-up riding and trailer towing.

The answer is going to be different for everyone. That's why it would either be nice for the motor to have too much and you just use what you need or the customer have some motor choices so you can choose what you need. As of yet BRP has not given this ability to Spyder riders. ATV's.... yes, sleds..... yes, watercraft...yes................Spyder no

Would love to hear the answer.
I read somewhere a few days ago that the Spyder division is managed by different people at BRP than the "power sports" division. Maybe that's why? Maybe the power sports managers should take control of the Spyder division?

The simple answer to this question is that Watercraft do not have to meet the increasingly stringent Government requirements for on the road vehicles, thusly emissions and noise be damned on watercraft.
