219400839 Arm Rests kit
Hi.
Has someone tested the 219400839 Arm Rests kit?
I've read is for all RT years.
Expensive but if my wife feels herself more comfortable ......

Page 77 of 2018 catalog
Dave they are listed on page 77 of the latest catalog. I too am curious to see if anyone has them yet, I am thinking of selling my diamond r armrests and adding the new spyder armrests if they fit the bill.

Diamond R Armrests
Hi BrentC:
If you end up making the change, I would like to put my name in the hat first for the opportunity to purchase your Diamond R armrests. Just let me know if you do. I'll send you a PM also.
Thanks!

Yes, I agree
Yeah, I saw that too. That’s why I’m hoping to hear a review or at least see them at the dealership prior to replacing the current armrests I have.

Can you swing the BRP armrests in line you can with the Diamond R ones? Corbin makes fixed armrests and I found myself banging my shin on them when I was getting on and off. I suppose you’d eventually get used to it but I liked how you could fold the Diamond R ones against the passenger backrest.

I just bought a 2017 RTS and had the dealer install the BRP armrests to make my passenger more secure. They swing out of the way. They are comfortable for the passenger. I am not sure they can do anything else. I hope this helps.

New Arm Rests!
From just looking at the photo and without my rt here it looks like some bodywork aka "Rear speaker Housings" are needed to hold the arm rests on. Maybe not but judging from the cost that would kinda justify some of it. I don't think they are adjustable as far as highth adjustment either.

pretty easy to install , no need to take seat totally off , just disconnect the lift rod ! ( incase you are just shopping around )

we looked at these, but the wife doesn't like the fact that they swing out. The BRP ones lift up. So we have gone with those. I will pick them up tomorrow, BUT, with the 11" of snow we have received in the last 24 hours (and still snowing) it will be awhile before I can do a review......

Had mine installed at the dealer. He wasn't a big fan of the BRP version because they are just mounted to plastic. Mine (wife's) like these are screwed under the seat, to metal and support provide great support. They swing in and out as easily as you want, because you can tighten them up not to even swing a little.

My wife said the same thing. We have been on several big rides over the 1.5 years we've had the spyder. She says shes fine, but last year at the Norcal Rally, she sat on a bike with arm rests, and you could see that she liked them. But, she didn't like the fact that they pivoted sideways. She said she didn't feel safe, that she may lean on them and they move while riding. So, when I saw the new ones from BRP that fold up, out of the way, I ordered them.
They are about the same price ( $25.00 more) than Value Accessories ones, after dollar exchange. But no shipping, or duty. P.S. I just paid for them $448.00 cdn after taxes. (for those to compare with their dealers)
