    Default F3S Hitch is coming

I don't like the hitches that are being sold for the F3S. As soon as I get home I will getting back to fabricating our version of one. It will not use the lugs for the fender to be attached. I really feel that they are not strong enough to hold over time and will crack and possibly completely fail. They just aren't strong enough. I will give updates on progress. My goal is to have it ready for Spyderquest in September.

Default F3S owner here - anxious

We're looking forward, my wife and I, to your findings. I too agree that the support should come from the main frame is stead of the fender arms like the F3T and RT. Awesome - keep up the good work.

    Thanks!
This will go on my F3S so I will know it is right. I will probably add as an accessory a special F3S Spyder Rack to carry stuff for some added room. I think having the weight lower (instead of behind the ryder) will help the byke to even corner better.
We use my frunk as a cooler and I noticed that I could corner better earlier on in the ryde, then later it was not quite as good. Just the having 10-12 water bottles in the frunk made that much difference. And additional weight added to the byke, the closer to the ground, the less additional yaw you will experience = better handling in curves.

Hard to say yet. If it can be built to the concept I have in mind, around $200.

I am not going to say anything about the other choices due to the fact they both attach to the rear fender lugs. Big. big no-no IMHO.......

Both of the two after market hitches available for the F3/F3S that I'm aware of are very well built, but have different price points. I'm not understanding why it is felt that the swing mounted hitches are not up to the task. I have towed thousands of miles with a Bushtec hitch on my F3S with no issues and now have an F3T with the BRP hitch and again no issues. Hitch failure usually occurs when recommended tonge weight is exceeded causing the hitch to bend or brake. Sometimes you just can't fix stupid.

Except in Australia, where there is an aftermarket frame mounted hitch for all spyders including our f3s'. They work really well. Rated at 230 kg.

    Default Just wondering

Has there been any progress on the F3 hitch and will it work on a F3L? I am looking for a hitch for my F3L and will need one pretty soon. Thanks, Cindy

We have not had enough time to get a working model going yet. We have the material. Just a matter of making it happen. Will try to get back to it, however I injured my shoulder last week and may be on light duty of a couple of week, maybe more.

Thank you, I appreciate the update. I'm sorry to hear about your shoulder. I hope it doesn't give you too much trouble and heals quickly.
