SuperDave_GPS
For those of you who remember the Super Dave Osborne show from years past, when I was going through a divorce a while ago, one of my co-workers said to me "Y'know, every time you try to get one step ahead in life, your ex crawls out of the woodwork and kicks you two steps back, just like Super Dave Osborne".
So thus started the SuperDave part of my user name.
Then around 2006-ish, I took up a hobby called "Geocaching", which involves finding hidden containers around the world using a hand-held GPS device.
Thus, "SuperDave_GPS" was born

while we're on the subject of names ...
is it possible to change our name without creating a new account? As the identity of our byke is evolving, I may want to change my user name. But I don't want to lose my identity here. Ideas?

I asked that question when I first joined and was told the site administrator can easily change your profile name so you don't have to create a new account.

Yes it is. Just PM Lamont and tell him what you want your new handle to be. I've done it.

Yes, what Patti says. The only thing that will not happen is change your name if it is quoted in a post. Your old name will continue to show inside old posts. If you're reading a post from a couple of years ago and you see a reference to WasWinger, that's me. But all of the posts you made with your old name will now show as being posted by your new name.

Bad vs Badly

I think you may be correct.
If I was to change the word spell to smell, then we can test it.
I smell very bad = That works, but it's a condition not an action, as in something you do like spelling.
I smell very badly = That works. It is the "act" of smelling, so an action.
I spell very badly = That works, because I was trying to convey my ability's in the "act" of spelling.
I spell very bad = I think that works as well as "I smell very bad", because I still "STINK" at spelling.

what i'd like to know is; where did the rest of you get your SL names...? are they 'made up' or 'nick names' from your childhood, or something your wife/husband calls you...???
some of these names are AWESOME and very creative... i'd like to know, if you don't mind sharing that little secret with the rest of us here on SL....

Pretty straight forward. I was an avid runner until my knees gave out, and I was born in 1948.

I got introduced to Seadoo back in the late 90s and fell in love with them. I used Seadoomaiden way before I ever married. Now I have 2 along with my Can-Am.
