Oh Yes! When I lived in Duluth (which has hills like San Francisco) more than once I had to drive down the hill with a wheel(s) using the curb to slow down. Then, I got smart. I stayed off the roads when it was that icy.

Our Glenn Highway is similar anytime it snows. They whizz by at 70 mph and good luck when they try to slow down or stop.

The tow trucks love it. Always 30 - 50 ditch divers for the picking.

The salt truck driver was the REALLY stupid one!
Back down the street: throwing the salt into your own patch... They've been doing that around us, for about seventy years...

Holy crap. Stay off the road when it is that bad.

Also, what kind of baby plow/salter was that????? Montreal must be strapped for cash. The plow/salters around here are freakin behemoths.

That sure was a pretty good crash with the cop car.

    Default Montreal drivers

That one hell of a skating rink.
The cop was not too swift either, he should have known better, should have been trained for this type off driving.

In Quebec they force us to have winter tires, but the buses don't have them.

Anyway, there will most likely be more of these bowling alleys skating rinks with buses this winter.

    Hi cuznjohn,

Re: a little ice on a canadian street

I've been in Montreal many times in the winter.

I've been in Duluth numerous times in the winter.

I've been in Red Wing, MN numerous times in the winter.

My folks were both born in North Dakota.

Am I ever so glad that they moved west before I came along.

The average year-round temperature here in the Portland, OR area is 42* F; that's 4* C for you folks in the rest of the world.

I do not like the cold or the snow.
