Differences between 2013 Spyder ST and 2014/2015 Spyder ST
Hi gang,
Newbie here.
Sorry if this question has been answered before. Did browse the ST section of the forum.
Anyway, what are the differences between a 2013 Spyder ST and the 2014/2015 ST's.
Seems to me that there were a lot of improvements with the 2014's an newer Spyders.
Seen some heat related discussions.
Any feedback is appreciated.
Thank you,
Maurice

I have a 2013 that I bought just over a year ago with 4300 miles on it. Since I have had it the only issue I have had was that the water pump leaked. Luckily this was handled under warranty. I also had the upgraded side panels put on that are the same as the 2014. This did help with the heat on my leg. I also installed the Baja Ron sway bar myself which helped with handling. I would love to upgrade the shocks but just cant justify the cost right now, naybe when these shocks are ready to be changed. I currently have 13,500 miles and am totally happy with the Spyder. Enjoy your ride.

I have a 2014 ST LTD and it has been a great Spyder. To improve the handling I have stiffened the front shocks. Added a stiffer springs to the rear shock since we ride 2up most of the time. Added the Baja Ron stabilizer bar and the laser alignment. The bike rides like is on rails!

Hi Gang,
Good information. Thanks for responding.
? - how does one tell if the vents have been replaced/upgraded?

I love my ST, There does not seem to be a lot of discussion here about them here except when someone has a problem. I would go for it and get the updated air flow panels. The rest is all the same.

2013 ST
I have a 2013 STS that the dealer upgraded with the 2014 side panels.
It makes a great improvement in heat and rider comfort.
The 2013 is vastly UNDER SPRUNG with undersized shocks. I initially added BajaRon spring preload adjusters for an improved ride.
Finally bought Elka Stage 2 shocks and springs (same as the RT uses) for the ultimate suspension improvement.
The 2014 ST has Fox Shocks and Preload adjuster in the stock configuration.
Get a BajaRon Sway bar for either year.
Great bikes once you tune to your liking.
Cheers, David C.

2013 vs 2014/15 ST
Newbie here as well. It seems that in addition to the heat/airflow/panels issue, there's a good number of 2103 ST ryders who experience their brake light switch staying on (therefore cruise control problem). Not sure about the 2014, but with the 2015, the switch has been relocated and there is no such problem.

I INSTALLED THE BAJA RON SWAY BAR AND ELKA STAGE 2 SHOCKS. BIG DIFFERENCE IN RIDE.
WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IS HOW HE HELPED YOU WITH THE HEAT ON YOUR LEG. (RT. LEG)
I HAD A PAIR OF HIGHWAY PEGS INSTALLED. NOT REAL COMFORTABLE, BUT ALOT OF HEAT ON MY RT. LEG.
