    Default Odd Swap Request

I am looking for someone who would be willing to swap their "BLACK" F3 air intake covers over the fog lights for my "SILVER" (see photo). Im not a fan of silver and to purchase both sides in black from BRP is about $340. I would be willing to throw in $100 and pay both our shipping costs. Mine have zero scratches or blemishes. They come apart from the Tupperware so will be easy to ship. I know it's a crazy request, but if you're looking to accent your black F3 with silver, or going to wrap your Spyder and don't care about the color, it is a good swap offer.

    Default Fair request....

Have seen many stranger ones. Good luck with it I would if I could but I can't cause I don't have them. If nothing else....plasti dip them...this will give you the option to later peel it off and have silver once again or have them powder coated for a more permanent result....

    Hi Chris,
Have you considered just giving yours a good coat (or two) of paint?

With some patience; even you can have it come out looking like a million bucks!
(Wellllll... maybe a couple of thousand! )
Get yourself the fines sandpaper that you can 600 grit should be considered as WAYYYY to rough!
lightly scuff the surface (it gives the paint something to grab onto...)
Just use a couple of thin coats... keep the spray moving, and let it dry really well between the coats...
(At least this is how my Missus does it: I don't paint anything! )

.....But it doesn't have to ... After I removed my RT antenna, I filled the hole, BONDO'd it , and painted it with TWO off the shelf paints ( undercoat and translucent topcoat ) People have said it looks like there wasn't a hole there......... Bob D. has seen it .........just sayin ........ Mike

I have Plasti-Dipped chrome before with good results. Just find a clean bug free place to do it and apply it in four or five coats. The stuff is pretty tough. Alternatively I don't think it would cost more than $50-60 to have them powder coated and you'll have your choice of finishes.

Ok this is probably a dumb question, can you powder coat plastic?

There are NO dumb questions .....but the question I have is - WHY ? - ( + I don't think you can ) my belief is you powder coat for wear & abrasion resistance ...... Your Spyder is - PAINTED - are you thinking of having it powder coated also if possible. I eagerly await following comments on this .............. Mike

Because I apparently wasn't paying attention when I made the comment. You can't powder coat plastic; it would melt. I have Plasti-Dipped plastic before and it works quite well.

What about scuffing them up and hitting them with some truck bed liner? Would give them a black textured finish and pretty hard to screw up.👍
