Broken Heart
I've been off the board for a couple of months, but I have a good excuse. Over the summer I developed a serious heart problem that resulted in Open Heart surgery in September to have my Aortic valve replaced. Recovery has been swift and I'm feeling really good.
Recovery has been so good that I went to Spyder Adventures in Maggie Valley, NC for a couple of hours on Friday. I got to meet Lamont, Doc, Sue, Terrance, and several others. One thing I noticed about all the vendors was the quality of their parts and their passion for them. It was a long drive for a couple of hours, but it was worth it.

I'm glad you are making a great recovery.
Wednesday I was told that my ascending aorta is dilated and I'm 42 years young. It kinda opened my eyes.
I will pray for your continued healing.

Glad to hear you're feeling better. I had my pacemaker implanted on 8-18 and still feel like crap. Ryding my spyder is the only time I feel really good.

Good luck in your recovery and as others have said, take it easy, don't push it. Had major ticker repair myself in Aug with the road back throwing a few speed bumps in the way but I'll get over them too. Wind therapy is biggest help.

Me too!!
I also had a bicuspid aortic valve and had a prosthetic valve put in it's place.
That was in 2006 and I still feel fine. (Ignoring the very recent laparotomy!)
So although it's a daunting procedure it is now considered to be a "routine job" by cardiologists.
You'll soon get used to taking Warfarin and any other pills and potions which you may have been prescribed and you'll fell better than you imagined possible.
Best of luck to you!!

Get well and hope you stay well.
