so i made the decision today
i decided to sell my bike, i went to my dealer and he is going to take the bike on consignment. with the heat, and not riding with my buddies anymore because they have to hold back to wait for me, it was a hard decision, but i made it.
it is not worth holding and paying for the bike and insurance for a few rides when it cools off. plus money is a little tight and i can use the extra bucks to pay other bills. after the years of riding, it is tough to not have a bike, but who knows, maybe next year i will get a two wheeler if i am up to it. i decided to go with the consignment because i don't have a clear title, and don't have the money to pay off the loan. this way he will sell the bike, i hope, and i will put the difference in to pay off the loan.
i will still be around to brake chops, because believe it or not, i like you people. ok will let you know hot it goes with the sale.

Sorry to see you make the decision, John. I guess we'll all be faced with it at some point. That's a part of life that sux but you're still looking down at the grass. Good luck and keep posting.

John, I know whereof you speak. I too for the most part made "the decision" about three months ago. Mine was a little bit different, but the conclusion I came to, as you, was the same. I had a 2013 RT-S. I purchased to take long trips with "my partner". However, over time I found that my partner (wife) did not "love" to ride like I do. It made no sense to keep the 2013 RT-S if your partner doesn't love to ride. I, like you, put mine on consignment with my dealer, Seminole Power Sports, in Sanford, Flarda, and it was sold within 10 days. (for a price that I was very pleased) I too will continue to lurk around on this forum and add my 2 cents worth from time to time. I also felt the heat as you, and to say the least it hasn't been pleasant. I'll never say never though so I could end up with an F-3 in the future. Just not now.
I wish you the best.

I GET IT
I too had to sell a bike once when I had a bad accident - not on the bike - but could not work and could not make the payments. Back in the day (and I mean way back) dealers did not take bikes on consignment but my dealer graciously did so as a favor to a good customer. But, I am really glad that you are going to stick around to torment us!

I love my wife, and I love my Spyder. She loves me (at least sometimes I think she does), but she wants no part of my Spyder - never even been on it. But then, I knew that was going to happen when I bought my RT, so I have no inclination to sell it. I'm not comparing my situation to anyone else's - it is what it is, and we're all different.
To be fair, she did fly with me when I had a plane - especially on trips (although she never enjoyed flying as much as I did). And we do share a lot of motorhome time together. She even likes to drive that, although she won't admit it. (I have pictures of her grinning ear-to-ear while in the driver's seat, that I took when she wasn't looking.) Truth is... I'd much prefer to use the motorhome to travel with my wife, and use the Spyder for my own enjoyment anyway. (We all need our "personal time". )
I also suffer with too much sun exposure - especially in the summer. Unless a welcome cold front comes through, my summer riding time is usually early morning breakfast runs, or after dinner evening rides.
