hey guys I have a couple questions. I searched through here and picked up some great info. I am getting a deal on a 2009 spyder rs sm5. red in color with the upgraded seat and saddle bags and the rear rest. the price is $5000 cnd. smokin deal for here. anyway I have to drive 8 hours to get it so what should I ask on text about the machine and what should I go over really well when I get there.
it has 48000km on it and a lady owned it. not sure if she owned it from new..

Get the VIN #. Have a dealer run it or go to the BRP website and input it. You will get the mechanical history of the particular unit. A very good price if there are no snakes in the deal.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
Bullet proof model and year. You'll be fine
I purchased my 2008 from a little old lady in Maine in 2010. Great machine. Good luck you've made a good choice.
If it is not California smog legal you will
not be able to register it in the state and get
lic. plates It must be BAR and Carb legal.
if it is a Canadian model I doube it will pass
California laws
Be sure it says 50 state legal and California
legal on the label on the frame

thanks I live in Canada tho, but very good info. I live in New Brunswick so no need to worry about cali laws.
I see my profile shows CA on it...that must be where you think im from cali.
It's even got the touring screen! Looks great.
as long as the service history is good, I'd go for it ... And I speak as a little old lady myself... Lol
