As a former MinneSNOten, I can say I have ridden my motorcycle in lower than 10 degrees BELOW Zero. That was way back in 1965, and before there was much in the way of warm riding gear.
Been there, done that, have the T-shirt. Now that I am a bit older, and much wiser... I don't ride much below 30 degrees above these days.
I think to myself--am I having fun yet? If the answer is no--I park it. Black ice also goes hand in hand with the above scenario. I don't drive on black ice.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)
MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles
IT HAS BEEN A LONG, WONDERFUL, AND FUN RIDE.

Coldest I've ridden a bike was in Finland at -30C/-22F. It was this weird contraption belonging to a guy I was working with, looked a bit like a Speedway bike and had spikes out of the tires to grip on the ice. Rode it up and down on a frozen lake a couple of times frightened out of my wits before handing it back and returning to the comfort of my snow mobile:-) Got some photo's of it somewhere so will try and dig them out.

I ride until Oct. 1st (last year I rode until Oct. 15th) due to Insurance purposes , and I can not do everything. So I can catch up on everything else, plan spyder trips for the following year, holidays, spend time with family, friends, "my Time".
You don't know what the weather will be like in Oct. Last/ and this year was an exception. Our first snow fall was not until the week of New Year's. Deanna

Using a base layer system like this, I have been able to ride in 20 F weather.
Firstgear Heated Glove Liners
Firstgear Heated Jacket Liner
Firstgear Heated boot Liner
Roadskin Kevlar long johns
Draggin' Kevlar Shirt
The Kevlar is good at distributing the liner heat more evenly. It also adds some protection from the dreaded slide.

I rode until they salted the roads around here day before yesterday... I'll leave it parked now until there is a decent rain I guess.

It all depends upon your perspective; right?
-
i stop at riding at 55-60, which means i cant ride about 4 or 5 weekends of the year
If it were to ever reach zero here i am quite sure 90% of us would just curl up and die!
-
For the Record...
At 60 degrees: Californians reach for their sweaters.
At 50 degrees: Floridians pull out another blanket.
At 40 degrees: British Cars refuse to start.
At 30 degrees: Alaskans go swimming.
At 20 degrees: Folks in South Carolina start crying.
At 10 degrees: Real Estate values in Arizona start looking
reasonable.
At 0 degrees: Canadians go swimming.
At-10 degrees: Residents of Michigan go to Football games.
At-20 degrees: Canadians will put on a Tee-Shirt.
At-30 degrees: Alskans will close the Bathroom Window.
At-40 degrees: Swedish cars refuse to start.
At-50 degrees: Canadians will bring in their lawn furniture; if
they can find it in the snowbanks!
At-60 degrees: The thought of cutting firewood actually becomes
pleasant.
At-70 degrees: You CAN watch daytime television!
At-80 degrees: The dog is under the covers with you. Even if he does
have fleas!
At-90 degrees: Politicians will put their hands in their OWN pockets.
