    Default HF Trailer Swag

With paint color advice from BlueKnight911 and Deanna777 posts (thank you), I decided to add a little color to my HF Tagalong trailer to make it more "matchy" to my Spyder. I think it looks good for my first paint job ever....

Started with some adhesion promoter clear primer, used VHT SP402 Burt Copper for color, and finished it off with some clear coat.

Advertised as 600l lbs (http://www.harborfreight.com/600-lb-...ler-66771.html) but I believe Can-am limits tow weight to 400 lbs.

If you go with this trailer, make sure you repack the wheel bearings with better grease. Also, you may want to upgrade the wheels to bigger ones. I haven't yet but it is on my to do list....

    Looks great!!
Makes me want to do something to mine. I am just not creative enough to figure out what. Now towed by a 2015 circuit yellow RT Limited.
Maybe I will just replace the vinyl cover with a yellow one.

looking good! I also painted the rims black on mine as well as a few other extras. Added a high mount brake light, removed one of the leaf springs, went with larger tires, replaced the taillights with LED, added perimeter exterior leds to match the bike (installed dimmer to tone it down a bit), added a carpeted panel inside and replaced the bolts to the frame with eye bolts to use as tie downs, interior led lighting on a tilt switch to come on when opened, added a small gel battery to run the internal and external lights when the bike isn't running (battery is charged by the bike when running), the battery box also has usb charging ports and a 12v outlet.

    Default Looks Great!

I really like the look - great job! Thanks for sharing.

How do you like your trailer? I would love to get a BRP trailer (either the 622 or Freedom), however, I would like to have a lower cost trailer as I would only use the trailer just a few times a year.

    Thanks!

I agree and would rather have the BRP trailer myself but couldn't justify spending that much for something that sat in the garage 90% of the time.

    Default Leaf spring removal

What is the reason for removing one of the leaf springs on this trailer?

The HF trailer has a 600lb capacity which is more than the Spyder is rated for so a bit of an overkill. I can't take credit for the removal, which was done to make it supposedly ride better with a lighter load. There is a great write up on a Honda Goldwing site about customizing the HF trailer and that was where I got the info.

I really like our HF Tag-Along, tows great, hardly know it's back there. Can't beat it for the price, wait for it to be on sale and take a 20% off coupon with you, they will often combine the sale price and the coupon.

I painted ours when we had a red Spyder. Now we have a silver/black plus a cognac one. I'm not too excited about repainting the trailer.

I lengthened the tongue, built an aluminum box for a EU1000i Honda generator, a roof rack for the clothesline poles, plywood floor with carpet, replacement LED lights all around, relocated license plate with 3rd eye brake light, removed one of the leaf springs and a couple of whirlygiggers so I can see it in the mirrors and the trailer can be seen better by others.

    Default I'm so impressed!

Lots of creativity displayed for these HF trailers - those look as nice as any on the road.
