Saw some unfriendly Spyder Riders!
For the last 2-3 weeks I've ran into several nice looking RTs, RSs and even a an ST. Waved, thumbs up or attempted conversation with other Spyder riders and was SNUBBED worse than Harley riders! I'm the type to never meet a stranger no matter color or nationality. It has me not wanting to wave or speak! Don't wanna be that way but wow!!!

waving
Yea you going to have people refusing to wave or speak to you. I just keep on speaking regardless, cause that's the way i am. I have not ran into another Spyder Ryder not speaking yet, but the other brands i have seen it. I just keep riding and smiling.

Their problem, not yours. Just keeping smiling and waving and enjoy your ride

Top Ten Reasons Why Spyder Ryders Don't Wave Back
10. They'll NEVER be able to find the horn or turnsignal again, if they move their hand on the grip.
9. They keep a "Death Grip" on the bars in case of the dreaded DPS failure.
8. They were too busy trying to figure out how to change playlists on their I-Pod.
7. They were "Bluetoothing" with their dealer regarding the latest farkle delivery.
6. They couldn't find the "Auto-Wave" Button. (Hey; It's a Limited!)
5. Their passenger was distracting them with some nonsense about "Having to stop for a break"...
4. They were mentally rehearsing the "explanation", that they'll need to give their Spouse for the
last Farkling episode.
3. They were trying to remember the best way to cross Nebraska. (Answer: while asleep, in the back of a van!)
2. They were too terrified to take their eyes off of the display; lest the dreaded "Orange Screen of Death"
make an appearance.
1. You crossed paths while they were setting the cruise control, changing the voice on their GPS, raising
the windshield, and changing the volume on the radio.

Gotta say..!!
Pay it no nevermind...trying to figure it out is not worth it . I wave to them all and the occational motorcycle cop waves back, and thumbs up to fire fighters. Deep down (if done on purpose) they miss out and probably don't wave for the same reasons. If really a good person you know in the end they feel bad....

Bob's list #8 has happened a few times.
What's the most complicated thing on the RTs??? Engine, Chassis, Steering, Stability Control, Anti Lock Brakes, Anti Theft Key Switch????
Nope, the most complicated thing is the I Pod programing or changing settings.
As for waving, most times always. As for conversations, I'll get back to you after this Sundays first mini get together here in West Palm.

Takes two hands, I'll never be able to wave, but I'm sure others will be waving their arms signaling me to hold onto the grips.

You know, this waving thing is conditional.
I generally wave during the week on the way to work or on the way home.
Or maybe on a Saturday going to the boat.
But GEEZ, if you go down the Mohawk Trail on a nice Sunday morning, if you waved at every bike, you'd have your hands off the bars more than on.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong, and I'm sure someone on this forum will let me know about it.
If it ain't broke, don't break it.

I understand, I wave a lot too, but remember not everyone that rides a spyder is as nice as us on spyderlovers.com. I look
at it like this, when I rode HD not all HD owners waved back. Maybe there are people who just don't want to socialize. Just enjoy your ride and keep on waving, someone will wave back, eventually.

When I Can
Like to wave to all other riders, even "rough hewn" types. .....When I Can.
Don't do Ipod or phone, but I DO dodge that skunk in the middle of my lane.

They belong to the "Snooty Spyder Riders Club". This is a very exclusive membership. They hire others to clean their windshields and only eat at private clubs. There feet hardly ever reach the ground and they use imported shaving creme. Pay them no mind as they have no inner vision of who they are.
Or maybe they are beginners, and remember "it takes two hands for beginners!

On the way home on the Alaska Hwy, I stopped for fuel and lunch at a place. There were lots of cars, RVs, motorcycles and tour busses. I was in the fuel line next to a group of GWs and a Spyder, all from Minn. I waved to the Spyder ryders, but got no response; I figured they were just busy trying to get fuel, etc. As I parked, a Harley guy asked me about the Spyder and we had a nice talk. Then I went into the cafe and most of that Wing/Spyder group were seated on the deck. One couple was indoors, where I sat. We had a nice conversation and they said one of their group is a Spyder and pointed them out to me. When they came back in, I tried to say something to them, but they just couldn't even acknowledge me.
Oh well. Their loss!

My thoughts. I have been riding for 50 years. For me, the most useless whines are the ones about motorcyclists who don't wave. What does it matter? Some people just don't want to wave, or chat at the gas station. That is their business not yours or mine. Let them be and have a great day. It must have bothered you quite a bit to have to post it on SL. If I am riding, with my mind off work, etc., enjoying the wind, the smells, the big trucks on the Interstate, maybe I don't notice you when you go by. I am not riding to please you. And in my experience, I have been waved to and returned wave to more Harley riders than any other make of motorcycles. The snobbiest ones are the Goldwings. Their crowd don't think we are worth lifting their little pinkies. That makes my day, cause a just laugh and carry on.
