    Default Windshield center arm replacement

I replace the windshield center arm on my wife's 2010 RT, and now the windshield wil not go up or down.

There is a magnet on the opposite side of the shaft from the gear. It's used to sense the position of the arm.
Did you re-assemble the unit and change the position of the magnet relative to the arm ?
I hope you bought a billet arm from noboot, instead of the same crappy arm from BRP.

If it ain't broke, don't break it.

First thought - the engine must be running.

…. and to further complicate matters …. that magnet acts the same way that elevator - start / stop devices do …. they must be positioned correctly for the READER to sense where to position your windshield …………. 5 years ago when I built my own " windshield arm " I discovered this …. luckily I marked where the Magnet shaft arm was before I removed it ……...good luck ….. Marking the magnet placement before removing is the key!

My guess as we have experienced this problem before is that you need to rotate the arm 180'

Thank you for the info, I read the maintenance Manuel and watched the YOUTUBE video and nowhere did it say to make sure the RT was running. Thanks again.

Sorry about that, I guess we assumed you already know that your RT windscreen arm wont function without the bike running.

The simplest of things quite often catch us out.

    Cheers, nobot
