Free travel for life - lots of places in the world that I want to see, but doubt I ever will, just because of the cost to get there. I have family in Alaska, in New South Wales, in Korea - and would love to surf the reefs in all the Pacific island groups.

I could probably get used to 'free travel for life', but let's not be hasty; just stop a sec & look at this a little deeper.... 
If there were No restrictions on how much gas or the 'when or where' of getting it, then if I didn't just take the free travel for life I reckon I'd be very tempted to take the free gas for 20 years - Why you might ask?! Well, on average over the last 20 years, I've driven/ridden slightly in excess of 150,000 km each year - that's about 3 million kms total in that time; & even with fuel economy averaging about 10km/litre & gas costing an average of about $1.40 per litre here in Aus atm, that comes to about a $300,000 gas bill - which is a lot of money that I could 'save' or at least 'not spend' on gas that I could then spend on other things, while still funding the gas bill for the same level of driving &/or ryding! 
Sooo, I'd hafta live a looong time to spend that much on a $300/month grocery tab - doing the math, $300/month into $300,000 works out to me needing to live another 83 & 1/3rd or so years, doesn't it?? Now I can't really see that happening; or me even really wanting to live that long... unless the Missus could too, & we both could be returned to the state of health & fitness we experienced in saaayyy, our mid 20's?!? That might make living that long worth while!! But somehow, I can't see those proviso's happening! 
So that leaves the car; & whatever way you look at it, an $80k car doesn't really warrant serious consideration if you bump it up against free travel for life or $300k or more worth of gas money does it?? Altho maybe a $300k car just might warrant serious consideration!! 
But no, I'd hafta take the Free Travel for Life; altho if I couldn't wrangle that to include a family member as well every now & then, the Free gas for 20 years runs a close second!

I would pick the free gas. Being empty nesters, we rarely grocery shop, I have plenty of cars, and if i had free gas, I can drive to the places that i want to visit.

I'd go for the free gas. The car is a depreciable asset and I'm not impressed with it enough to forego the other options. If the free travel means free airfare, it would be nice, but I'd have to leave my Spyder at home. Plus I don't like all the hassle of flying since 9/11/01. If it was personal charter, I'd reconsider. If affording groceries became an issue, I'd plant a garden and learn to hunt.

Free travel for life ! we don't eat that much food in a month, don't need the car and have a car that gets 45mpg now, so don't need gas, so let's travel.

Free travel for life? Nah, airports and flying are a nightmare. Flight delays, crowds, security, just too much aggravation. Free gas for 20 years? With the money I save on grocery's it would be like getting free gas. An $80,000 Mercedes? Do you have any idea what the maintenance on one of those cars is? You don't run an 80k car through Oil Can Henrey's for a $40.00 oil change. So I'd go for the $300 a month in grocery's for life.

a lot of great answers on this question, my thinking is, i never travel, i also have never flown in a plane, so that is out. then there is the free groceries, i don't cook, i like the idea of ordering what i want and feel like on any day, so the groceries is out for me. now the free gas, i never minded paying for gas if i wanted to drive or ride somewhere, i have been doing less then 12k a year in my car, and less on the bike when i had one.
NOW THE 80K MERCEDES, i love that car, i have always wanted one, but don't want the smaller ones i could afford, yes they do decrease in value, but if i got the car and drove it for 1 year, put less then 12k miles on it, then sell it, i figure that would satisfy my urge to have one, and then make a few bucks, selling it. so i would be ahead of the game

Free gas. Why?
Well, I'm still a few yrs away from retiring, so the free travel sounds good, but I still gotta work to pay the bills, so travel is out.
$300 a month for food, Na I eat alot of venison.
The car, nope gotta maintain that thing, and that can't be cheap. Plus it deprecates.
So, fill her up please..

Another vote for the groceries here. I HATE grocery shopping, but maybe it would be better if I knew they were paid for, and I could bypass the checkout line...LOL

I think the gas for 20years would be the best for me we have a van a truck a boat a motorhome and a spyder so we can use a lot of fuel,
at age 77 I hope to drive for a while yet so would burn a lot of fuel
