I bet he thought it contained coins. I would have loved to see the expression on his face when he got home, opened the bucket and said "Oh crap". I can think of a few ways to get rid of 1.6 mill in gold flakes but it would take a while to do. Unfortunately, with the good quality of the video, this guy is not going to be free long enough to get away with it.

I'm also thinking there's going to be a couple of job openings with Loomis. What kind of guards, instead of guarding that they're supposed to be guarding, leaves it unguarded.

many years ago, at the federal reserve bank building, in downtown Manhattan, new york, someone took a bunch of out of circulation money. the building is like fort Knox, when you enter the loading dock, there are men in what i called machine gun nests. b4 you could get a truck or van in the building, we were checked by 2 armed guards with shotguns. they went through the whole van, every box was opened and looked at entering and leaving the building.
so as the story goes, there was construction going on, there was a room in the basement with large canvas bags full of old cash bills to be destroyed. it never was in the papers, but everyone on the job was talking about a old Italian laborer who left work one day, and was never heard of again. they figure he got into the room, filled a dumpster with the bags, put a bunch of construction dirt on top of it, went outside to bring the dumpster, then once outside, he took the bags out of the dumpster, and left the building, and the country. i was not working there, but at the time i was delivering material to the men working there, so that is why i know how hard it was to get in, and how i found out about the story

Last nights news said about $1.6 million. The fences will probably offer about $100,000.

A number of years ago, a single engine airplane did an emergency landing after dark on US 400 North of Atlanta on the South bound lane. The news reports said that the aircraft was carrying cancelled checks. There was $50 million in cash in the aircraft!

I was taking a Cavern Diving Course and one of the students was a Fulton County Deputy. He said he was one of the cops guarding the plane.

Something broke loose in the engine and clogged the oil line and the pilot had no choice as the plane was going down, somewhere? It was evening rush hour so North bound out of Atlanta was not an option. Unfortunately when she landed, she hit a Volvo and it burst into flames. The driver of the car didn't make it.

When I was working, one of my clients was a company that recovered precious metals from circuit boards and other items. We were not allowed past the security entrance. They would bring the sweeper out side for us to work on. Mind you, that sweeper was so clean you could eat on it. One time I received a call that it was down and they needed it repaired asap. I had to wait two hours, on their dime, for them to figure out how to get it out to me. Well, they couldn't do it. I had to empty my pockets of all items, which went in to a lock box. I was escorted by two armed guards, sans toolbox, to the sweeper. Had it ready to go in about ten minutes. It had a tripped drive motor breaker. The newly hired operator had been using it with his foot on the brake pedal. Even though I was escorted, I still had to go through the metal detector on the way out.

one of the jobs i did in the citibank building on 53rd st. in Manhattan, was installing a fire alarm system in the building. i was only a worker on that job. well in the 2nd level of the building they had a travelers check vault, with all negotiable checks in it. to get into the vault, the thick door had two combination locks and two keys. two people had a key and combination to the vault door. if one was not in, we couldn't get into the vault. when we made arrangements to get into the vault, they put two armed guards. there were rows of shelving in it, and a smoke detector and heat detector had to be installed in each row, and all had to be piped out. so it was a big job.
we knew all the guards in the building, so we would talk and work at the same time. one of the guards told me, that on one shelf there was over 50 million in travelers checks. i felt real uneasy working around that stuff. one missing, and we were the only strangers around it

    Cuzn,
Your story reminds me of when the manager of our local jewelry store said that he had something to show me...
He goes in the back storage room, comes out, and drops a HUGE diamond in my hand...
    (15 carats)
When he told me what it was worth; I almost passed out!
But the urge to run like Hell; was almost irresistible!!
