2018 updates
Hey, that's a good list; my favorites are the turn signal dash indicators and the mushy switches. Here's two more: fix the speedometer discrepancy and add 'Distance to Empty' to the screen. I've seen multiple posts about the speedometer being off by about 2 mph, per the GPS, related to the tire circumference.
And I've ridden with the gas gauge needle pegged and the yellow light on, in a panic to get to a gas station, and then find the fill-up amount is 5+ gallons in a 6.7 (+ or -) tank.
Ya gotta have this stuff if you're going to compete with Hds and the top metrics.

The list
Lots of great ideas here... and I think one of the best would be a hand operated brake on the throttle side. I have always "covered" the brake lever when on two wheels when anywhere near another vehicle, keeps the reaction time down. And racing, this is pretty much the way it is done.
I do have the privilege of comparing one of he very early RT's to the F3 I have now....wow, the F3 is a huge improvement IMO. So, they do listen, those Kanucks.

Their snowmobiles, atvs and side by sides all have CVTs with reverse, imagine the Spyder with a fully automatic transmission, or, a DCT. If they brought out a "beginner" model with a single seat and a 700-800 cc engine with CVT, how many would start ryding? Shaft drive, retro styling, deeper sidebags and larger (think HD Tourpac) trunk on the RT. Lots of other things have been covered, but how about a body design that doesn't have to have the mirrors removed to undress the powertrain?

I would like to see the RTS-SE6 or SE7 spyder model still in the 2018 line up.

I doubt they'll ever fix the speedometer issues. Every bike I've ever owned or known about had the same speedometer discrepancy, no car I've ever owned had it. I have to presume there is some regulation that makes this mandatory otherwise it wouldn't be so ever-present. It's not as though there is some impossible technology required to fix it.

I also wish the frunk was a bit bigger too. But they had to move the battery.
No reason that the rear saddles aren't big enough to hold a full modular helmet with intercom installed.
Top box rack standard or 'factory' option.
LED Lighting front rear and sides would go a long way in safety for us all.
Comfort RT seat as the only one available, not as an optional seat.
All in all, I must say it is a great Ryde and even more so for one who has a disability
Pls no comfort seat only! This from a short person that could not comfortably ride on the comfort seat.

The items that seem to strike a common chord seem to be:
- Better switches
- Bigger storage areas
- Better tire life
- More power (I have a feeling there is nothing that this will ALWAYS be the case)
- Less belt vibration, or a move to a driveshaft

Hey Bob
How about MORE GROUND CLEARANCE !!!! so we don't scrape going into the gas station

3. longer and deeper saddlebags. Give us more storage space.
4. Give us a top trunk that you can put two full-face helmets in.
5. How about an improved radio system
6.Is a built-in Navigation System too much to ask for?

However... don't hold your breath waiting for any of the changes noted here...

Ground clearance?
I guess I have not had an issue with this. As to belt drive....guessing this would add about $1500 to the prices....which are already fairly high IMO

My 2 cents worth!
For the cost of like an RT-Limited BRP needs to make some more things "Standard Equipment" such as - the 3rd brake light. There is NO reason why that isn't added for safety if nothing else as standard equipment. Trailer Hitch Standard on higher end RT's would be nice. Again spending 30k and then having to spend $500 more for a hitch if you want to go with a trailer down the road (ha-ha) I know, you got to charge for R&D but....some changes surely can be made. All they have to look at is what farkles people add most of and then build them into the future models.

I doubt it. There are plenty of inexpensive shaft drive bikes.

I agree with all of the suggestions and would like to see them eliminate the stupid DESS system.

By the time you figure in the cost of a major re-design, AND the re-tooling costs: your estimate might just be awfully low...

They wouldn't do it JUST for the shaft drive change. It would be part of a major redesign. No reason to stick with old tech just because you have it now.

Redesign?
The F3 is of course a complete redesign from my earlier 2008 model, and I have learned the seat on an F3 is 26.6" whereas my previous model was 30.4". The nearly 4" reduction in seat height is IMO a huge improvement in the overall handling of the F3.
Having said all this, I would find it interesting if a further reduction in seat height could be accomplished in the next iteration of the F3.... the F4? And, maybe the shaft drive would allow this... of course when we look at cost, the F3 is still much more of a bargain than a Goldwing trike at $35,000 or more.
Interesting discussion.....

The only problem with dropping the seat height, is that you have to put your feet even further out in front of you. Some folks might find that uncomfortable.

Yes and it works great although there is a very noticeable whine. There have also been some recent questions about long term reliability of the BRP tensioner. My belt vibration is completely eliminated, which at first tended to make me ride at higher speeds than expected. [emoji6]
