    Default Zumo 660 Repairs

Tried to get Garmin to repair my Zumo 660. They said it was too old and did not have parts? Found SatNav Repairs on the Internet based out of Mankato MN. They gave me an estimated of $50 plus shipping and repaired it in no time. Their website is www.satnavrepairservice.com.

I gotta ask is it to old because its a 660 or an old660? It's not discontinued yet so how can they offer lifetime maps & not the lifetime units?

Their rationale on the lifetime maps is that it is the expected life of the units not your life. When the Zumo is expected to have outlived it's usefulness they will no longer renew the maps.. Check the fine print. As to why they wouldn't repair it, who knows? I have found most manufacturers don't want to be bothered.

The map updates are the same at least among the different automotive style GPS offered by Garmin. I wouldn't worry about not being able to get map updates.
