Default Changing Brake Fluid on F3S

Would someone please walk me thru the process of bleeding the brakes
or point me in the direction of a tutorial?
    Thanks in advance.

If the fluid is not too far gone and you do not have air in the system, you can flush and bleed without use of BUDS.

I use a vacuum bleeder. First vacuum all fluid from the reservoir and replace with new clean DOT4. Then, starting at the rear wheel connect the vacuum bleeder, crack the bleed screw open and pull fluid through until new clean fluid comes out. Its easy to tell when it gets there. Close bleed screw and remove vacuum bleeder. Move on to one of the front wheels. Unlike a car, the order is not nearly as important on the Spyder.

Should be done every two years.

Manual states to start at the left front caliper then the right front caliper, and finish with the rear caliper.

Make sure your reservior is clean around the caps as well as the caps. I washed mine before I opened them.

I had my wife pump and hold the brake pedel down as I cracked open the bleed screw (8mm wrench) with clear tube attached to the bleeder screw going into a clean container. Make sure you do not get the fluid too low in the reservior are you may end up with air in the system. If that happens you will need BUDS (dealer) to fix that.
Run the most new fluid through the frount left caliper as that is the longest run.

This is not hard to do, but it does take time and for the rear caliper on my RT I found it easer to remove the muffler to get at the blead screw.

The glass jar in the middle is what came out of mine.

The brake reservoir on the F3 is in the panel under the handlebars where you check your oil, so you probably need to start with the back as JC said.
The point would be to start with the wheel furthest from the reservoir.

Good point Mike as the RT is by the rear wheel.

    We
are talking about the difference of a few ounces of brake fluid either way. Other than the waste of a small amount of fluid, it works either way. The Front and rear circuits are completely separated anyway.

The shortest distance is to the left front wheel. Then the right front. By far the longest is the rear. That's because the VCM is located between the front wheels, offset to the left. Does not matter where the reservoir is located. Basically both lines are the same length from the reservoir to the master cylinder and the same from the master cylinder to the VCM.

What would a decent dealer charge to change your Brake fluid on a 2012 RT?
