Default Change zumo 660 by 590LM

    Good evening to all!
For sure there are a lot of threads speaking about this but I’m sorry, I did not found.
My Rt Ltd. 2011 came with the Garmin Zumo 660 mounted from BRP but maps are from US
and here in Europe are not too much useful.

I have the 590LM with Europe maps and all wires to mount in a motorcycle and I’d like to mount on the Spyder in place of the 660. Is the one I used on my VTX 1300 from two years ago.

Is there some diy or could you tell me some advice about that?

I would try mount the new one in the same place than older one. So, is only a problem about dismount the old and mount the new one or are there more thinks to have in mind?
I’m going to need more parts than the wires I have?
Is the BRP part attaching the Garmin cradle the same for both GPS?
And a long list of questions …….
Thank you very much in advance for all that info.

The simplest solution would be to get the European maps on a SD card and plug it into your Zumo 660.

For your idea to swap out the 660 for the 590 should be easy enough to do. Remove the 660 mount and wiring harness all the way back to the radio located in the right rear of your Spyder. Then replace it with the 590 mount and harness in the reverse of how the other was removed. The bracket on the handlebars is the same.

Here are the gps installation instructions for the RT. You can use Spanish translation. I hope this will be useful. http://instructions.brp.com/content/...mber=219400149

    Thank you very much.
I didn`t know about the existence of that BRP web.
I think is a good option to start with my own DIY cause it doesn't seem to be very difficult to my
    skills.
    Let's go!
Promised pics when finished but no time.
