Have a dealer appointment to do it because he said the belt tension has to be changed as well. Is that the case?

Red face 4 In stock in Australia with BRP Asia Pacific

    Yahoo finally arrived in Australia.
Put mine on today and it works.
    Pn 219800412
Mat. Desc. F3 Idler Pulley Kit (Esemble Roue Libre F3).
Known in Australia as a Idler Belt Kit.
    For the technically minded.....
Appears that the swing arm (injection Moulded) and roller are made from Acetal so will be strong and last along time.
Japanese NSK roller bearings in roller and possibly in the pivot point.
Bolts are Class 8.8 medium Carbon Steel Heat treated. Proof load of 600 Mpa with Nilock nuts.
The spring looks like good quality also But I will be keeping an eye on it for corrosion.
The bracket is 2.5 mm (1/10 inch) plate steel.
It has about 6.5 kg pre load when flat.
Shame on BRP for not putting this on originally.
BRP will most probably still have it as an option to recoup R&D costs and hence avoid liability for an imaginary vibration (one that most of owners have experienced).

    Default Yeah!

Just had a message from my dealer that it is in. Thank you, Americans, for finally letting some reach the other ends of the earth. I have to pop my F3 in for a checkup and laser alignment once I get me new Kumho on, so I might get them to do that at the same time.

Are you serious, Whammy? The bolts are only Class 8.8? I will send it back and demand at least Class 8.9 ........Seriously though, thanks for the info.....even though I don't have a clue what acetal is, it's great to know that it is made out of long lasting materials

Default POM Du Pont Delrin / Ertacetal = Polyacetal Resin

Yes I would have preferred class 12.9 bolts (1220 Mpa Tensile Strength) but it is hard to find class 12 nuts so I would have to make do with class 10 nuts.
Polyacetal (Acetal POM) is basically a Thermosetting Plastic it is hard, stiff, resists creeping, has dimensional stability with a low coefficient of friction (stay away from jokes about this material). It is replacing precision metal gears and bearings, great for things that are in hot water up to 60 to 90 C.
I fitted it in less than 30 minutes so make sure you do not get charged extra for morning tea and lunch breaks. They should be able to do it in less than 30 minutes. I had to make 2 trips from my car parking garage to my workshop garage which added 8 minutes. So BRPs estimate of 0.3 hours (20 minutes) is correct.
Note for Australian fitters .. . the instructions illustrate the USA version with the larger rear sprocket hence the idler roller sits lower on the European / Australian models with maybe a little less tension (less than 3kg (= 0.5 kgf)).

Whiles it's a good idea to check your belt tension and make sure it's in spec, it is not a requirement. There is no recommended change in the belt tension when installing this option.

Had my BRP tensioner put on yesterday by my favorite dealer in Wisconsin Rapids. Noticeable difference in ride quality. There's still a hint of vibration but not sure if that's from the belt or not. Definitely a great mod for the bike!

Yes--regardless of what other posts may say, it does not solve the problem for all of us, I can understand their loyalty, but bull**** has never satisfied me, why else would I say this if it wasn't true??? The problem is engine vibration in the 3200-3800 range--the engine is not balanced--the entire site can blame it on the belt---so why do some of us still feel vibration after the BRP roller assy is installed???

After looking at Doc Humphreys video and all for the RT mod for this, I had to pull the trigger. I have wanted to get a tensioner but the 200-300 price range always seemed really high, the brp part is 35 bucks and docs mod is 40, and it looks easier to install than either the Baker or smooth spyder....we'll see i'll update when I get it installed !

Installed mine today. Huge difference. I'm pleased with the product and very pleased with the smoother ride. Now my teeth don't hurt at the end of a long ride.

Christ on a cracker! Engines give out vibrations... get over it already. The belt tensioner GREATLY helps reduce vibration. The Spyder vibrations are nothing compared to other motorcycles on the market, except the gold wing which is damn smooth.
If you want a ride without any engine vibrations then perhaps a car would be a better choice for you. Seems like you're far too sensitive to vibrations to be riding a motorcycle at all.

Sorry to have offended you and a few others. My goal was to have BRP correct the problem on future productions. My other bike is a 2007 Suzuki Hayabusa with a Stage 2 Velocity Turbo putting out 344 rwhp & 210# torque on a 530# bike. This isn't my 1st rodeo.
