    Thumbs up

gee, what, do you drive downhill everywhere you go ? Or maybe a little paralysis of the right wrist ?
It sure sounds really good to me, and I can also infer, that you are a responsible ryder. Thanks !

I am shocked that your average mpg was 32 and your high was 40mpg! I am guessing you adhere to the speed limits. I had a 2012 RT SM5 and the best I ever got was 31mpg. Of course I rode her hard and put her up wet. I do the same with my 2015 RTS SM6 and I usually get around 37mpg. I check my mpg but only to make sure it hasn't gone way down from the usual 37. I figure if it really varies, I might be having a problem.

Well those are good numbers, I am in Ohio. I am however shocked at what your average price of fuel is, where are you buying it?

Except for the high of 40 mpg your mileage mimics mine. You price per gallon sucks though. I have never paid more then 2.80/gal here in the Intermountain West.
BTW I like your tracking program. Did you write it or what app is it?

I always use 93 octane. Remember, the first 2 1/2 years of ownership (bought in April 2012) gas was hovering at $4 or more. Then it gradually began coming down. I included the last 10 fill ups and you can see the latest gas prices there. Last time it was $2.71. In the Columbus Ohio area premium gas is running $.40 more than regular.

LOL. What short memories we have! My last fill up was $2.71/gallon for premium. Back in 2012 it was always around four dollars or more. Central Ohio area here.

Not sure about other model years, but individual fill ups are not as important as keeping a running record over the lifetime of your vehicle that really tells you what mileage you're getting. On empty, the gas pump sometimes shuts off with only 3.75 gallons added to the tank and other times it might be closer to 5. I'm not sure if it's poor tank design, heat, or what. Maybe the newer models don't have that problem?

This shows you the prices of gas in the middle of 2013. At or around $4/gallon

Speaking of gas. I'm running Chevron non ethanol gas in my 2014 RTS. Good or bad idea?

It depends on the octane rating of the fuel...

Driven total of 12,162 miles. Ave mpg 34.19. Ave fuel cost $3.00 gal. Total 360.995 gallons Ave cost of .088 cent per mile. This is a 14 RT base and mostly at speed of about 75 mph and a lot of times with a pretty good wind. Highest milage ever was 47.18 and lowest was 28.46. Most of the time I am right around 32-33 mpg.

I put that in because people would freak and argue numbers, etc. Some would tell stories of some fantastically time they got HUGE mileage. Then when you asked them, they were doing it in their head. LOL. You can't do it right if you don't track it!

Then others would say, "I bought my Spyder to ride it - not keep records all the time and waste my energy doing it". LOL It takes seconds to update your log on www.fuelly.com

They would have you believe that it takes hours to compile this information I guess? NOPE! You write down your odometer reading when you fill-up on the gas pump receipt and you enter the information in your log online. Literally takes seconds.

To reduce the discussion, I added the words "For entertainment only".

Held off a while to see how this would work out. Gas mileage is like depreciation. It is always a "best estimate." Way to many variables and there can be very good and very bad readings at any time.

I am an accountant so I always play the numbers, but don't get to excited one way or the other.

I am talking 5 spyders and over 130,000 total miles.

The four two cylinder rotax engines--rather GS/RS/or RT, have always performed in the 30 mpg range for me. Best ever was 34. Everything downhill, wind at my back and cruising at a leasurely 45 or so.

The three cylinder 2014 usually performs at about 10 mpg better. Pretty much around 40.

I round off my calculations to the nearest whole mile. 32.2 would be 32. 30.9 would be 31. Those 4 decimal calculations imply more accuracy than actually indicated. Did you squeeze the nozzle a tad more this time?????????

I drive non-aggressive and usually keep it at posted and no more than five over--actually like posted + 3. I did not buy a for its fuel efficiency--just for fun.

Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.

    Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)

MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles

IT HAS BEEN A LONG, WONDERFUL, AND FUN RIDE.

I get a pretty consistent 31-32 MPG on our 2010 RT. I'm a pretty casual cruiser, no speed demon. I usually stop between 128-140 miles and fill up with 2 bars left on the gauge. I keep receipts and add up the gallons and miles.
