F3 Frame question...
Anyone know what they did to fix this issue on the 2016 or 2017 models?
2015 I know they added the plate near the top of the shock.
Wondering if they just add the plates from the factory... or did they redesign it?
Spyder #1 - 2008 GS SM5 Premier Edition #1977. RIP after 80,000 miles.
Spyder #2 - 2012 RT SM5. Traded in after 24,000 miles.
Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.
Spyder #4 - 2017 F3 SM6. Too good of a deal to pass up!

From what I heard it was only reinforced, not a redesign. I'm sure you'll get more replies.

And as far as I know they have brought out the 17 F3 and F3s with the same poor rear shock which bottoms out too easily, arguably - along with maybe a weld issue - a cause of the frame issue.
It would not have cost too much to have the two-up shock as standard - a cheap way to gain happy customers, a good reputation, and more sales for BRP.
my husbands F3S, soon to be mine, needed the two up shock just for him at 95kg weight. Very poor, BRP.

2016 and 2017 t and limited has a new swing arm. along with that, a new shock was added in 2016 and yet another upgrade in 2017 spring models from what I understand!

from what I understand the new f3t and F3 limited have the RT swing arm but the original F3 still has the same frame as the 2015. I imagine they added the extra plate at the factory.

Yep I know the T and Ltd have better frame and rear air shock, my point was that BRP have persisted with the substandard shock on f3 and f3s.
The whole back end on the T is different.
Its not the swing arm which is cracking so swapping would not solve this.
We have the bracket and two up shock on f3s, just hoping we didn't have to do the same on the new Daytona . Looks like we do.

If you look at the parts diagram of the frame you can see the 2016/17 F3, F3-S has been beefed up where the rear sub frame bolts onto the rear of the main frame.
